The North Face Matrix Hooded Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Women's

The North Face Matrix Hooded Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 March 10, 2008

It's a slightly unexpected shade of pink, a little brighter than I thought it would be. Also thinner, but that means it doesn't stay sweaty for long. Good length, comfortable to wear.

Really warm and the contrast piping is very flattering. Looks eye-catchingly different. My current fave hoodie/knitwear.

Impressive

Backcountry.com Goat Liner Glove - Women's

Backcountry.com Goat Liner Glove - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 March 10, 2008

As a glove on its own, it's warm enough to ski with as long as you don't get it wet. The grippy palms are great. If you do want to use it as a liner, though, your outer gloves have to be significantly bigger.

They worked - no cold feet, no damp feet, no shin blisters. Also keep feet toasty when in motorbike boots...

Salomon Telluride II Ski Pant - Women's

Salomon Telluride II Ski Pant - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 February 25, 2008

Quite baggy so fine if you would rather have full mobility over a sexy silhouette. However, if you are on the shorter side like me (5'2")you might possibly want braces to hoick them up a bit, although the elastic cuffs at the ankles obviously keep their position over the ski boots. Definitely keep you dry and plenty warm enough with just a lightweight merino baselayer.

Bit small

Coal The Ryan Beanie - Women's

Coal The Ryan Beanie - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 February 25, 2008

It was a bit small compared to the other one I got - the Carlson. Suspect it was because it was specifically for women while the Carlson is probably for the guys. I haven't got a big head so if you have, it might be too small.

Form fitting

The North Face Akira Hoody - Women's

The North Face Akira Hoody - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 February 25, 2008

It's form fitting which is obviously flattering if you have a decent figure, not so good if there's any tendency to muffin top, especially as it will ride up a bit at the waistline. So, can also be a bit draughty. Best as a spring/summer transitional, I think.

Salomon Miss Maya Short Down Jacket - Women's

Salomon Miss Maya Short Down Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 February 25, 2008

Very warm - I was often horribly hot even with just a thin single base layer, so no doubt great if you are skiing somewhere very cold. Lots of pockets which are great because I hate carrying bags. Definitely waterproof (I fell over lots on day 1 and day 2. Not particularly nipped in at the waist so you wouldn't look skinny even if you are, but plenty of room for layering if necessary.
