The North Face Half Dome Jacket - Men's

The North Face Half Dome Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 7, 2012

My quest for a four season shell ends here. This is one of the nicest gore tex pro shells I have seen in years. I have tried and returned a lot of shells from Arcteryx, Mammut, Marmot and Patagonia. It all comes down to fit and this jacket is perfect. 5'10 and 170lbs went with a large. sleeves are just right. Fits great alone or with a down sweater underneath. Great zipper function. The main zipper is two way.Pit zips are nice and big . Perfect pockets. two hand and two chest. The jacket is light and the gore tex pro stretch fabric is supple for a pro shell. The North Face likes to change their jackets yearly. Very happy I purchased this one with gore tex pro stretch fabric.

Long Sleeves

Patagonia Super Alpine Jacket - Men's

Patagonia Super Alpine Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 November 4, 2011

Very nice jacket. Very durable, I am 5'10-160lbs bought a medium. The jacket fit great except the sleeves went down almost over my fingers. I know it is better to have a longer than shorter sleeve length. These are just too long for my liking. Around the knuckles is perfect. The jacket fit great every were else. Can layer a down sweater or fleece and still have a nice range of motion. But for 600 dollars it better fit great every were.. had to return it. One of the best hardshells out there if it fits.

Vapour-Rise

Rab Vapour-Rise Lite Tour Softshell Jacket - Men's

Rab Vapour-Rise Lite Tour Softshell Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 January 2, 2011

This jacket does is exactly what the name says. It breathes incredibly well. It does have pit zips. Blocks the wind and sheds moisture really well. I will agree with the other review on the fit. Little tight in the shoulders. No strectch. I sized up to a large. The jacket has a great storm hood and nice face coverage. Great dual chest pockets. Rab designed this jacket for Ski touring/mountaineering. The Red color is pretty cool, has blackish grey on the sides. Looking foward to getting out into the backcountry with this jacket. You cant go wrong with the price

Bomber Cold Weather protection

The North Face Prism Optimus Down Jacket - Men's

The North Face Prism Optimus Down Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 30, 2010

This is a very nice Jacket. Love all the pockets. 2 chest, 2 hands, 1 internal security pocket which is used to stuff the whole jacket into for packing. It has 2 internal stretch water bottle pockets. Great down hood with brim that is fully adjustable. Fully welded baffles eliminate stitching. Pertex endurance wich is 100 percent windproof and 1000mm water column. Highly water resistant and very breathable. All the zippers run really smooth. The main front zip can be zipped up from the bottom if needed. Great lightweight and very durable down jacket the packs down small for how warm it is. Not sure on the fill weight but I guessing around 300 grams. Love this Jacket.

Great Jacket

Arc'teryx Atom SV Insulated Hoody - Men's

Arc'teryx Atom SV Insulated Hoody - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 11, 2010

I was debating between this jacket and the Atom Lt. I really like versatility of the 100 grams of insulation. Works as a great layering piece or can be worn on its own for almost every day of the winter here in the Rocky Mountains. The jacket feels very light on. Packs down really small. The main zipper is very smooth. The elastic on the cuffs are perfect. The hand warmer pockets have a nice fleece patch for the back of your hands. A couple of things I like over the Atom Lt. The Sv has really soft fleeced lined chin area. The Sv also has a fully adjustable hood were the Lt has no adjustments. 2 huge pluses for me. The jacket fits perfect in medium. 5`10 - 160lbs. I have the Alpha Lt shell in medium and the Sv fits perfect under it. Another amazing jacket from Arc'teryx

Great cold weather Jacket for aerobic activities. It blocks the wind, Breathes incredibly well. the collar is perfect height and really traps the heat in when fully zipped. This jacket stretches better than any soft shell I have worn. I like the pockets and the location.Awesome articultion in the elbows. I feel Polartec Power Sheild is the perfect mix of wind, weather protection and breathability. I Really like this Jacket

Great

Arc'teryx Alpha LT Jacket - Men's

Arc'teryx Alpha LT Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 October 31, 2010

I have had this jacket since it came out a few years ago. This is a perfect 4 season shell thats very durable and light. I can wear it with a light base layer or a down sweater and the fit is perfect. Great articulation in the elbows. Love the storm hood. You can really dial it in to perfection when its nasty out. The brim on the hood is perfect. There is a reason Arc'teryx is so expensive. They use the best materials, have the best articulation(range of motion). The fit and finish is the best I have seen. The Jacket has a really smooth outer face and the tiny stitching is amazing. Really pleased with this Jacket.

Patagonia R3 Hi-Loft Fleece Jacket - Men's

Patagonia R3 Hi-Loft Fleece Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 October 31, 2010

This Jacket is really nice. Great pockets. very light, warm and cozy. The main zipper is great and has nice little zipper garage at the top when fully zipped. Great insulation piece to be worn under a shell in cold conditions. The only flaw I see so far is the cuffs are a too loose for me. I will deal with it and am looking foward to using this on really cold ski days and a warm jacket for bumming around town.

Almost Perfect

Cloudveil Koven Plus Jacket - Men's

Cloudveil Koven Plus Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 February 28, 2010

I really like the concept of the c-change material on this jacket. Great pockets, really nice velcro on the cuffs. The body-mapped fleece on the inside of the jacket is a really nice feature for winter activities. This jacket could be used all seasons but, more ideal for cold weather. It also has a nice strectch to it in the rite places. What I did not like was the collar height is a little too short. For a Mountaineering storm shell I need more face coverage when its really blowing outside.Otherwise a very good and almost perfect Jacket.

This is a great backcountry touring setup. The skis perform great in the powder and steeps. Highly recommend this set up for ski Mountaineering and touring.

SWEET BIB

The North Face Mammatus Bib - Men's

The North Face Mammatus Bib - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 2, 2009

After shopping around for a backcountry bib I bought these. What sold me was how soft the material is for a gore tex pro shell. I have done some hiking and ski touring in these and they have been perfect. Anything in the north face summit series to me is still top notch.
