Pacific Outdoor Equipment Ether Compact 6 Sleeping Pad

Pacific Outdoor Equipment Ether Compact 6 Sleeping Pad

Rating for this product: 5 May 28, 2008

I think it is funny that people are too stupid to realize if you blow it up too much, you are probably going to feel like Huck Finn floating down the Mississip! Like anything inflatable, it is best to release the right amount of air until your body feels most comfortable. This baby has ample insulation that keeps you off the ground and warm. It fits great in a regular size mummy bag and it a MUST own for any sleeping bag or night spent on the ground. Buy this baby with mind at ease...especially for the price. The included stuff sack and repair kit is nice too as it packs to about 10" L x 3" H...easily will fit your backpack.

Best bag I've owned

Mountain Hardwear Ultralamina 15 Sleeping Bag: 15 Degree Synthetic

Mountain Hardwear Ultralamina 15 Sleeping Bag: 15 Degree Synthetic

Rating for this product: 5 May 28, 2008

This sweet little bag is super light and super warm. Combine this with an inflatable air pad and you are good to go in most normal camping conditions. I doubt you would take this bag to Everest but it is going to get you through 90% of your camping trips be it car camping, tent camping or multiple day-hike camping as it dries quick due to the synthetic material and compresses into its included stuff sack that will EASILY fit into your backpack. I am thinking about getting another one for my better half. I agree with the one comment below, it is cool you can unzip each side around your arms and still be snugged up from waist below to eat or just sit up and drink your morning brew! I am not sure what the other reviewer was complaining about when it comes to weight...this baby is light for how cold it will protect you from.

Good quality glove for the $$

Marmot Piste Glove - Men's

Marmot Piste Glove - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 February 20, 2008

I have had a few Marmot products and have always been pleased. This glove did not disappoint. Its Gore-Tex coating keeps you dry and the liner keeps you more than warm in most conditions. Because they are a glove and not a mitt, in windy conditions you do feel your fingertips go a bit cold but even so, the glove does a pretty good job of keeping your extremities working and comfortable. I would buy a similar glove again from Marmot, plus they look cool with the orange and khaki design! I would say the medium size fits right on with a 6-7" palm size for guys. The extended cuff helps keep wind and snow out as well, either over or under your jacket sleeves.
