I know it says highly water resistant. What does that mean? Is it equivalent to waterproof ratings in any way? In more practical terms, if its raining out will i get through this jacket if im out for prolonged periods of time?

How do you wash this jacket. I'm guessing I simply can't just put it in the washing machine? I know with some kinds of jackets its not good to use liquid detergents. Any tips? Also, I am 6' 155lbs. Will a medium fit me?
