Hi, I'd like to know if this jacket is totally windproof and great for Northern Vermont cold winter weather with a layer under? I have a Patagonia that is sort of like a soft shell and in windy conditions it's cold...

I'm hesitating between this jacket (the Narvick) and the Falketind Goretex Paclite...

Anyone can help?

Would you use this shell as a top layer for skiing/snowboarding on cold windy days with let's say a fleece and a merino first layer under? I need to be warm; sitting on a windy chairlift without a warm jacket isn't fun at all...
