Arc'teryx Stinger Jacket - Men's
January 7, 2011
-4 degrees plus wind chill. knee deep powder. no sun.
the Arc-tyrex Stinger was absolutely bomb proof. All i had on was under armour, a t shirt, a Mountain Hardwear monkey man fleece, and this jacket, and i was toasty warm. i felt great. i even had to open up the pit zips occasionally, which helped regulate my body temp perfectly.
this jacket was amazing. i cannot stop wearing it. its good for everything from wind to rain to snow, on the mountain or around campus.
I'm 5'10, 180. athletic build. i got the large and its perfect with layering. its roomy but not to big, just how i wanted it

Smith Variant Brim Helmet
November 23, 2009
I've heard from many people that the brim gets in the way of putting your goggles up. How true is this? can this problem be avoided? i like the brim look but its a pain if i can't put my goggles up.
also, how would these fit with dragon maces?

Line Limited Edition Spirals Anthem Ski
March 7, 2009
Thats a nice size but the 171s would work to you can always grow into them. Some people ride skis longer, you could easily ride high 160's, low 170's. im 5'8 and im on 172's and people my size sometimes go even bigger

Marmot Meta Softshell Jacket - Men's
January 20, 2009
A lot of times Marmot will make items specifically for different retailers, sometimes one of the items from their line altered slightly to the retailer's specifications. As a result, the retailer is the only one with both the jacket and any information on the jacket...As for the weigh, it is extremely light. The material is super light and the whole jacket seems to be lighter then most of my sweatshirts.

Marmot Meta Softshell Jacket - Men's
January 13, 2009
To mw304001693322 or anyone else who has this jacket. Can you explain more about the pit zips and what was wrong (pictures possibly)? also, what else did you like or dislike?to jbm_132341269, the review says that it does have pit zips and that he was having trouble with them.but as for the windstopper marmot you have (i think they are a little different), what do you think about it?

4FRNT Skis MSP Alpine Ski
December 22, 2008
The msp in my opinion is the BEST ski for hard snow conditions you can buy for in a twintip. you could get by with 171's--but i would go 181 for 2reasons they are fatter so they will give you better powder performance also as you get better you will want a longer ski. they are pretty stiff but you sould still be able to handle the 181'sAdd: i really think you dont need skis this fat for skiing in the north east. a good pow day is so rare that you'll get better performance on hardpack/ice with something a little smaller that can handle pow, these would be better out west i think. they would work well when the conditions are right, but the conditions are hardly even right

Ortovox F1 Focus Avalanche Beacon
December 22, 2008
No.all beacons transmit and receive the same signal, otherwise it would really restrict who could search for you and who you could search for, which would be stupid

DAKINE Chute Backpack - 2200cu in
November 20, 2008
Hey, I was looking for a good bag that would work for school and skiing. I mostly ski in the north east, so im not doing a ton of BC skiing, i probably will never carry a shovel or any of that with me. But i would like something that can carry my skis on occasion and my books for school. I have a backpack for school that's about 2000cu in. and when i wear it, it feels like it would just be to big to ski with, and the chute is bigger. so i was looking at the Dakine Pro 2 pack for skiing but i like the size of the chute for school. Does anyone have any experience with either backpack? any info would be great. Basically i need to know if this bag would be to big to ski with if im not a huge BC skierMichael, i look at all the dakine bags and am set one these two. The heli pro is much to small for all my school stuff

DAKINE Tactic Pack - 1500cu in
October 5, 2008
The dakine website gives you some more pictures of the inside (http://dakine.com/ski/packs/snow/tactic/). i dont have the backpack but i have been looking into getting it and it seems to have compartments made for BC gear, but according to some reviews, not the biggest compartments. http://www.wildsnow.com/977/guest-review-dakine-tactic-backp
