Forty bucks is like forty Bic lighters but this lighter is cool.

I got these as a gift and they work as described. I like the fact that the ends are stitched down....But not for 20 bucks.

The reviews from this site alone sold me on trying an ATC guide and it has found a place on my rack. You climbin' fools.

Buy it before you need it. You will not regret it. This shovel is lightweight and one piece, no fumbling with assembly. The folding mechanism must be practiced and familiarized with. Must be FULLY collapsed to Unfold then extend, collapse to fold again.

My shovel has also has a lot of play in the handle/blade connection area. The 6000 aluminum blade is equivalent to the Volie pro (6016 on the T6 model) the whole shovel besides the pad and handle are for that matter. If you want a lighter "bombproof" shovel may I suggest the Black Diamonds, or Ortovox Grizzly 1 or 2 preferably. This is a good shovel for in your trunk or on the Snowmo. Great for moving snow not HARDPACK.

This harness works for my dogs but I can see how it just will not work for some others. You may need to exchange it for a different size, be patient BACKCOUNTRY is great! My Black Lab/ Bassets @ 40lb and 65lb can both fit the medium with adjustment. It works for their long bodies. GOOD LUCK!

This is a cool bowl for taking dog food along for the ride or hike. The cinch holds even the kibble dust inside the bowl.

These are F'n good.

Really likes these socks. They take some getting used to putting on and taking off otherwise great socks. Love'em.

This harness is great. Comfortable and rugged. Lightweight and easy to put on and adjust even while wearing skis! I like the added bulk over the alpine bod, the padded belt stands up on its own and it a little more comfortable. I like this harness and plan on making it my go to harness. I have others for sport and indoor, but this harness will replace the alpine bod that has served valiantly in my ski patrol pack.

This is a very reliable piece of equipment. The triact lock is positive and easy to operate with full finger gloves. Ball lock is a little more difficult and not as "robust" in my opinion. Twist lock is cool with marking to identify if locked or not. Great LOCKING Carabiner.

This thing is a monster and can handle a monster load. Far exceeds the rating of all the other equipment I roll with. It is heavy but used in an anchor it doesn't need to travel very far (Usually).

Simple twist lock carabiner, better than a standard but not a "locking" carabiner. Other twist and pull down carabiners offers more security and a traditional screw gate is also more secure.

The Twistlock should be used over a standard carabiner but not in place of a "locking" carabiner. It only has one twist to open and could potentially be opened by a rope or other inadvertent incident. The twist lock carabiners that require a twist and pull down prior to opening are superior as well as a screw gate carabiner.

This is the standard for carabiners PERIOD.

The best part is the hook will not snag like most "notched" carabiners.

These gloves are well ventilated and fit nicely for me. I have a large hand the extra large is a snug fit but feels good while working with ropes. Very convenient hole for hanging on carabiners. Double leather palm.

You can rig up your own quick-draws cheaper buying the parts individually, crazy...huh?!

Safety first.

I love the lens but the frame style was not comfortable for me. I can describe as brow forward, just different for me. Might be good for someone looking down outdoors...lifeguard, etc.

I love my Eyepatches. I alternate between polarized and non. These are great shades for water or where you might catch glare.

F'N A Awesome shades! Great fit for larger faces and those that prefer over sized shades.

Lens was too light for my taste, but the glasses were a good fit for me. I usually like large glasses ans these fit the bill.

I like this shirt alot, but the color bugs me. It doesn't stop me from wearing it though... The thumb holes are great, I still can't believe that they only seem to be on wool long sleeves. Made in China (Bummer for some)

This shirt is not as itchy as other merino shirts I own. I dig the collar and the flat seams, great base layer or WARM weather shirt.

Great for active sports in temps down into freezing without wind. I have also used as a helmet liner as it is more comfortable than the one supplied with the Bern Baker. Otherwise great for cool climates without much activity, but it is a little "snug"

I'm 6'4" 210 and usually wear Xl shirts had to go with XXL with these.

Great carb and protein replenishment.

Again, Great on the trail, or after a long day around a camp fire.

Its good to have fun food when hiking, or recharging after a long charge.

Growing up with Hamburger Helper solidified this entree in my pantry for life. Try to add veggies when possible!

Its got a Goat, that's enough for me. The blend is actually 83% Acrylic and 15% wool.

Keeps my drinks warm, but only 12oz for me is a tease (is that why they sell a three pack???). Its got a goat that's why I bought one (or two I can't find one).

A must if you eat backpacker foods right out of the packages. The extra reach is mandatory to keep your pretty little fingers clean.

I really like these powder coated bottles. They are not the easiest to drink out of though. The big mouth likes to share the water with my shirt often.

It may just be me but I didn't care for the eggs. I would be sure to sample these prior to packing on a trip. MHO

These are perfect for light hikers or casual shoes in summer months. I like the mesh...

These socks are great, I use them for everyday summer and warm weather outings. The height is perfect for me, the never sag. The mesh on the sole is "cool" too.

Cool bottles, but I prefer the coated or painted version.

At least its the same bottle every time, instead of the wasted plastic. No aftertaste! I prefer this style to the plain stainless. I love the Goat!

It stores compact and is lightweight. Easy to apply over heavy bulky clothing and ski boots (no stepping through thanks to buckles on thigh straps).

These goggles allow for awesome vision. The goggles feel "flimsy" in my opinion. I had only one day with them this season, we will see how they hold up next year.

Good Gloves. Not waterproof and not the best breathing gloves. After four or five days using the gloves started staining my hands black.

The Full Shock Eraser system is awesome. These boots allow you to ski all day stomping and pounding without feeling a thing. The fit is good though the soles wear a little quick in my opinion, but the heel is replaceable.

These pants are sweet. Great for 20 degree days (with light wind and snow) with a single layer underneath. Cord material is also on the seat. Adjustable velcro waist system. Powderhorn, it's UP to you.

These are great socks. I have completely switched to merino/nylon socks for every application. These are amazing just enough cushion without being "thick". The wool regulates temp and conducts moisture away from the skin.

Far superior to most footbeds found in light hikers and snow boots. I have found these inserts work well in my Alpine ski boots as well. Slight heel lift, feel way better than flat ski boot insoles.

Your Spy Soldiers are the Shyt.

These goggles are the BEST out there. I own several pairs with different lenses, Rose/mirror is my favorite for Bright days. Followed by Blue Spectra for all-around and the MFM Signature Black Mirror is tight! These goggles REALLY allow for distortion free wide vision (NO BLIND SPOTS).

Four stars should be "pretty warm" in this case. These gloves proved toasty into single digits with no penetration of moisture. A little bulky for use when then temp rises but worth it when the mercury falls. Not the toughest gloves but WARM. I have already used these skiing ad snowmobiling and they look good for a few more seasons for sure.

I moved up to these skis from the K2 Silencer platform. While I'll keep the silencers for fun in the park, I have found the Raider much more suited to resort/ groomed trails. The Binding set-up is plenty for any intermediate skier and the side-cut allows for easy turning. I would say these are probably not the best pick for powder skiing. (Maybe the Outlaw for the deep pow)

These are great all-around snow shoes but will flip the snow up your back when in deep stuff and when trans versing hills. The ascent feature is nice for steeep grades but not necessary for most everyday use.

My Ascent 25" fit tight in the bag and the single strap makes carrying the bag a bit awkward. Good storage bag, not the best tote.

LIGHT, but so is the pocket book after the deal. The tool is nice if you operate MSR Stoves. I like the LONG

Perfect for camping with two or a small group. nice sizes all stack able. the handle is usable but needs to be redesigned eventually. I also bought an extra skillet for breakfasts...

These pants are great. My girlfriend and I both own these pants now and love em. Remember to layer underneath, these pants are not insulated, which is perfect for California spring skiing. "Liberation" sums these pants up, go anywhere anytime in any condition.

Be sure to follow the care instructions... These shirts will shrink and piss you off, because they are the best, luckily i bought more than one. Merino wool is great and 260 weight is ideal for mid layer in cold and can function on its own in better weather. Icebreaker is my favorite wool clothing company now. The only complaint would be, I wish they would have included the thumb holes on this shirt.

This is it. The pros: Warm, Good pockets, can be zipped in to a proper shell as a liner when needed, classy look, clean fit, I'm 6'4" 210 and the large is a great fit for a midlayer. The cons: not waterproof, not windproof.

The organic cotton is soft and light. I like to ski. I wear t-shirts. So do you.

A little thin for my taste, good weight just a "looser" weave. Almost a stretchy feel compared to other fleeces I own. Great with a layer or two. 60 bucks is a little steep.

Works...How bout a old hanger and Kitchen spoon to hold the bladder open. Baking soda and hot water.

These are some of the toughest out there. And you can color code your crap, I know that is what my intention was.

Perfect for anything EXCEPT bulky pants and jackets. Organization is important, and Eagle Creek makes it too easy.

GORE-TEX and North Face. Shells need varying layers depending on conditions. 100% waterproof. These pants allow you to do anything you want anytime you want no matter what wet conditions. I'm an awkward 37" and the L are perfect even a little loose. Inseam is bout 32".

These shoes let the air pass through, one of the only shoes on the market the let the breeze blow over your toes. These are great three season shoes, or with good socks on a dry winter day no problem. I'm partial to the mids but the low tops are nice too.

If you're looking at these skis, you already know you need to buy them.

With helmets becoming standard equipment, the hunt for a cool helmet has become easy with BERN. The baker has not interfered with any of my goggle rigs. Even without vents the brock foam has a unique ability to disperse heat/sweat and allow breeze to pass trough. I find most often no liner is needed.

Good for the big heads out there, and I'm not talking about know-it-alls. These spys are sweet,"La Crose" sums up the SPY image in my opinion.

Warm, but not wind proof, better when layered over wool t-neck.

The idea gave this skier the chills, until I wore the legless pants and vowed to never wear full length pants again, which means the others pants I bought this year are getting altered...

Polo, this one is awesome. Bit on the tight side, inspired me to make it fit. The cut is flattering if you can wear it ;)

These are sweet skivvies, when around town I just cant get myself to wear em multiple days so I bought a few pairs. When packing these hold up great for a few days if needed.

I tried using this item for the first weekend during So Cal fire storms and the ash in the air must have affected the GPS. Every 5th message seemed to transmit and with no location available. Also during a heavy rain storm no transmission. Even on clear days some messages took 30 mins or more to reach recipient. The Spot Tracker has worked where my cell phone did not and that's why I bought it. Somewhat spotty mountain coverage, no pun intended. The added tracking service seems overkill, but some may find that useful.

I really like these glasses, they look great, but they don't fit as well as they look. They are large frames and tend to rest more on my cheeks and less on my nose. Although I prefer the look of these glasses, I use my more comfortable glasses more.

This tent allows the air to flow right through over your toes and your nose. Did not need to use the rainfly in 40 degrees with light wind. It would be nice though, to have a tent with a entire mesh top to look at more stars in the sky, while laying down. Tent went together quickly and easily, I like how the tent clips to the extended poles, NO SLEEVES! THE STAKES SUCK, I recommend North Face or MSR aluminum stakes. Material is thin and lightweight, highly recommend using the footprint. Get outside!

Tent is lightweight and thin material. This is mandatory for more than one season of use.

The shirt runs large, I used the sizing chart, and noticed that the sizes are different than other brands and bought the size as reflected by my measurements, but it was too big. Also, the shirt was actually shorter than I expected.
The most disappointing thing, however, is that the material is not as soft as other merino wool shirts I own. I would not recommend this item. I would advise people to go with ibex or icebreaker.
