Complete gear junkie. Grew up backpacking and still consider it the main escape. Have since added kayaking to the resume.

Sea To Summit Kitchen Sink

Sea To Summit Kitchen Sink

These things are great. I have two, the 5L for solo trips and the 10L for trips with the wife and friends. Their great for pumping water out of to keep your filter cleaner as well as washing dishes, bathing, water for your dog, etc. They don't spill water like older camp sinks though you need a relatively flat surface. You can also hang them from a tree or limb by the handles. They pack small and are lightweight. Great product and highly recommend.

Bear Vault BV450 Solo Bear Resistant Food Canister

Bear Vault BV450 Solo Bear Resistant Food Canister

Rating for this product: 5 November 17, 2008

I'm a huge fan of the Bear Vault brand. I've used others that require tools and these are by far the lightest and easiest to pack. As long as you follow the recommendations by the company on how to store it at night, it should keep your food safe from bears and other animals. So far I've had no leaks and they work great as camp chairs. The BV450 is perfect for week long solo trips and fits great in a 3000+ cubic inch pack.
