Solid!

Merrell Chameleon Wrap Gore-Tex Hiking Shoe - Men's

Merrell Chameleon Wrap Gore-Tex Hiking Shoe - Men's

Bought this for some hiking in Peru and it worked a treat! It was raining solidly for half a day, and it barely let in any water, even after immersing it crossing a stream. It's also surprsingly light (did part of the Oxfam trailwalk in them) and very solid (I liked that fact that the rubber came up around the toe and the sides of the shoe). The only reason it loses a star is because it doesn't grip that well in the wet

Packs a punch

Petzl Tikka XP Headlamp

Petzl Tikka XP Headlamp

Rating for this product: 4 October 17, 2008

Great light! I'd never really used on of these before, and I was surprised at how bright it was. I used it for camping and hiking and it worked brilliantly (I even had to light the way for some others because their headtorches were rubbish). It would help to have a strap going over the top, I was hiking with it on my head for about 10 hours and started getting a bit of a headache, but that could have just been fatigue.

warmer than it looks

Sea To Summit 100% Premium Silk Sleeping Bag Liner

Sea To Summit 100% Premium Silk Sleeping Bag Liner

I was hesitant about spending so much on a liner, but this worked brilliantly. It's surprisingly warm for such thin material. I was very impressed by it's strength (I though I was going to rip it in no time). I used it for camping, but will take it anywhere I'm travelling now, in case I'm staying at a hostel. Packs down small too.

Very solid

Black Diamond Cosmo Headlamp

Black Diamond Cosmo Headlamp

Used this headlight for camping and hiking and it performed very well. It was even quite handy when I wanted to go cycling at night. Unless you're doing some hardcore hiking or cycling through the bush at night then this is all you'd need.

Note: I originally pruchased the Spot, but was sent this accidentally. Backcountry refunded me for the Spot and told me to keep Cosmo. Thanks guys, awesome service!!!
