Scott Santiago Mission Alpine Ski

Scott Santiago Mission Alpine Ski

Rating for this product: 5 February 16, 2009

This ski is wicked. pretty fast on the groomers and no problem at all getting it to bite. It excels even more in the pow. turns are effortless and the ski is very responsive. I must agree with an earlier post that it does ski slightly shorter than its actual length so don't be too scared to order a size up. I jumped to the 178 from a more narrow 165 (salomon scream hot) and had zero problems. It's a breeze in the steeps and it is pretty nimble through the trees despite the length and width. I mounted mine with the Salomon STH14 and couldn't be happier.

Lens Tints

Oakley Crowbar Goggle Replacement Lenses

Oakley Crowbar Goggle Replacement Lenses

Rating for this product: 5 February 4, 2009

These lenses are amazing. H.I Amber Polarized for the bluebird days and then H.I Persimmon when the sun disappears...

This is just a link to the Oakley web site... if you go to the bottom of the page and click on the "lens tints" tab, it gives you a very good description of each lens tint and what conditions they perform best in.

Oakley Crowbar Exclusive Goggle

January 27, 2009

You said it yourself, they are both sick goggles. Try them on at a store and see what fits your face (and helmet if you wear one) best.I personally like the more traditional look of the crowbar over the 'fighter pilot' POCs.I agree with the above comment... these goggles have a wicked good field of vision and they are bomb proof.

Wicked Gloves

Hestra Fall Line Glove

Hestra Fall Line Glove

Rating for this product: 5 March 31, 2008

I just got back from 4 solid days of powder skiing in Jackson Hole. These gloves exceeded my expectations by a long shot. They get soaking wet on the outside but the inside still stays warm and dry even in 50 mph 20 degree windy conditions up top. The fit is rather small though so be warned. I measured 8.5 inches around my hand and the 9 feels a bit tight but it definitely wore-in this past week. I definitely recommend these!

Great Soft Shell

Venom Vertex Soft Shell Jacket - Men's

Venom Vertex Soft Shell Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 March 31, 2008

This jacket is amazingly windproof. It keeps out water very well also. I just got back from 4 powder days in Jackson Hole, and I was amazed at how well this jacket blocked the wind up top. The water repellent treatment could be a little stronger though. I was never wet inside the jacket - which means the jacket served its purpose - but when it warmed up a little the jacket retained some extra water weight. Overall a great soft shell, perfect for spring skiing... and definitely worth the price. I must add a little to this review... The waterproof treatment on this jacket either wears down rather quickly or just doesn't work as well as I originally thought... it didn't perform as well the second trip I used it on. Downgraded from a 5 to a 3, but steal a wicked jacket for the price.

Wicked

Oakley Crowbar Goggles Polarized

Oakley Crowbar Goggles Polarized

Rating for this product: 5 January 29, 2008

The price on these goggles can't be beat anywhere. I have a larger face and these goggles work out perfectly. The H.I. Polarized amber lenses are supposed to be used under moderate to high light conditions but I use these all the time unless I'm under the lights which is only an issue back home in the midwest where we don't have real mountains :(. If you can scoop these up for the low price there's no reason not too. Best goggles I've ever skied with.

p.s. your site rocks!
