The North Face Velocitee Tank - Women's

The North Face Velocitee Tank - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 June 4, 2009

It is very light weight fabric, minimal coverage, only one step up from running in just a sports bra, which is sometimes just what you need on hot summer days. As mentioned it runs a bit big- more in the chest/shoulders then in the waist.

Cap sleeves= perfect sun protection

Salomon Escape Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Women's

Salomon Escape Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 June 4, 2009

I like the cap sleeves- they provide enough underarm ventilation to stay cool, while still protecting the top of my shoulders from the sun.
This runs pretty small, but fairly true to the sizing chart.
It is a decent wicker, but not the most breathable fabric. It was comfortable on a breezy, sunny, 90 degree day, but i don't think it would be comfortable in hot, humid, stagnate conditions.

Solid Everyday Shorts

Sugoi 42K Short - Women's

Sugoi 42K Short - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 June 4, 2009

I got these in two colors and really like them. The split goes all the way to the band, which isn't obvious in the pictures. But there is plenty of overlap, so they aren't indecent. Also, they are fairly low rise, which I think is great, but if you are someone with a longer rise, they might be uncomfortable.
The velcro on the pockets isn't super secure. I haven't lost anything out of them, but i can imagine that if you ran hard enough, long enough, a gel or such could work its way out.
The sizing seems pretty accurate to me.

Added a star- I find I wear these all the time. On one really long sweaty run the elastic on the liner, around the leg, outside of the thigh rubbed me a bit raw. I think if I had been paying attention I could have folded it under so the elastic was covered. But other then that these are my favorite shorts. My favorite thing is that they are short enough not to rub on the front of my thighs.

Great Size

Nalgene Wide Mouth Tritan Bottle - 16oz

Nalgene Wide Mouth Tritan Bottle - 16oz

Rating for this product: 4 May 6, 2009

I really like the size. I will take one or two of these and stash them along my run. Also that way I can put water in one and a sports drink in the other. And they are small enough that I can actually get my hands around them and carry them comfortably for awhile. (And they fit in my car cup holder.)

Great All Purpose Top

Patagonia Capilene 2 V-Neck Top - Long-Sleeve - Women's

Patagonia Capilene 2 V-Neck Top - Long-Sleeve - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 May 6, 2009

I bought one of these for a trip to Norway. It was great by itself during the days, under my rain gear during a rainy hike and under fleece in the cool evenings. But all that is no surprise.
The thing that I have found it to be wonderful for is running. In Texas I rarely need much extra warmth on my runs. But I have found this top to be comfortable in a wide range of conditions. I think I like it best when I am going for a morning run and the shock of going from a warm bed to short sleeves is too much. It is just enough to keep a cool breeze off my skin, but it also breaths wonderfully as I warm up. The fabric is soft and smooth, never itchy. It has held up to dozens of washes. It is long enough for my long arms. Basically I'm going to buy a few more in different colors.

Not as great for long skinny toes

injinji Performance Micro Toe Sock

injinji Performance Micro Toe Sock

Rating for this product: 3 May 6, 2009

I have had problems with blisters on the ends of my toes and these were recommended to me. I read a bunch of positive reviews, so I got a pair. I haven't worn them extensively, but here is my first impression.
I have long thin toes, and I think these would be better for folks with shorter, wider toes. I felt like there was a lot of excess fabric between my toes, and the toes aren't long enough. (I think if I wore them with flipflops I would probably pull a hole in the area between my first and second toe.) I didn't get any irritation on the ends of my toes when I wore these, but I haven't worn them on a long run yet.
My other concern with these socks is the slipperiness of the fabric. I kept feeling like I needed to tie my shoes tighter and tighter because my feet slid more in my shoes then with other socks of a similar thickness.
