Arc'teryx Sigma AR Glove - Men's

September 22, 2010

How would these gloves be for ice climbing? Is there to much insulation on the palm to hold ice tools?

NRS Hydroskin Rash Guard - Long-Sleeve - Men's

July 6, 2010

How would this work as a mid layer for ice climbing? I'm thinking like a powerstretch under it with this as an outerlayer on warmer single pitch climbs and then just add like a compressor jacket with a hard shell on cold, windy days? I never seen this item in person. Any thoughts?

Mountain House Buffalo Style Chicken Wrap

Mountain House Buffalo Style Chicken Wrap

Rating for this product: 5 May 2, 2010

You can only expect so much from food that looks like styrofoam minutes before you eat it. I used 1 1/4 cups water instead of the 1 1/2 cups that it calls for. I did this because the BB beef wraps were a little watery. This stuff tastes really good. I try all new foods at home first in case I wind up tossing it. I would bring this and the BB beef on a trip. It does have a bit of a kick. The BB beef is sweet.

Marmot Greenland Baffled Down Jacket - Men's

Marmot Greenland Baffled Down Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 1 November 17, 2009

I ordered this jacket when it was 20% off. I had a MH Phantom jacket and I was looking for something with a DWR finish and a hood. When this jacket came, I gave it 30 minutes to fluff from being in the plastic bag. I could not believe how thin the sleeves were. There was hardly any down in the sleeves. It had half the fill as my MH Phantom. I sent it back. I got the First Ascent Peak XV Down Jacket. It has a DWR finish with 850 fill down. It listed for $270. It is a far better jacket.

Mountain Hardwear Lamina -30 Sleeping Bag: -30 Degree Thermic CF

November 15, 2009

A -30 down bag will cost you $600 or more. If you are using it in the car, the extra weight and space does not matter. I would not carry this bag. If you are just going to use it in a car, then get it. You can't beat the price.

Jetboil Classic Personal Cooking System

August 21, 2009

How does this stove compare to the MSR WindPro Stove? The Jetboil seems to boil faster. Does that mean that it uses less fuel? In the long run is the Jetboil lighhter? (Assuming that you would need to carry more fuel plus a pot for the MSR WindPro Stove.) I'm looking for a light packable stove to use on Mt Washington in the winter. Any other recommendations?
