Tecnica Agent 110 Ski Boot - Men's

March 11, 2010

The 130 is based off the racer plug boot, which mean narrower heel, toe, ankle. The 110 is the Dragon last which is wider and bigger all around. I have larger ankles due to sprains and breaks, after years of my feet being in boots, making them weak. The 110 is much softer then the 130. I use to have a Lange Freeride (now the Banshee)from Surefoot. The boot was great cause of the custom foot bed and foam just two narrow for my foot. I went with Agent 110 this season and love the softer feel and the Surefoot custom is the only way to go.

Norrøna Lofoten Gore-Tex Pro Shell Jacket - Men's

Norrøna Lofoten Gore-Tex Pro Shell Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 18, 2010

Just used jacket (cavier w/ green zippers, XL) for first time and was blown out of my mind with Lofoton jacket. Its super light weight and almost felt like nothing was there. The 3 ply gore-tex is hands down the best for keeping out wet snow and water, plus this jacket breaths great. After a quick twenty minute side step I unzipped to dump moisture and heat. I just had on a base layer thermal for the 15 degree day on mountain and a mid layer would be too much. Simple but with lots of thought put into the making of this product. I went with a XL because I can not stand the tight fit and this fits me great, but not being to baggy (5'9". 200 lbs). Sleeves are super long and work great with the hand panties and longer upper cuff. I tore through some tight tight pines at high speeds and the fabric took the beating and did not show any signs of failure. I HIGHLY recommend this jacket for the perfect outter shell, layer with a thermal and a mid layer and this is the perfect set up for those bitter cold days below zero.

Salomon Shogun Ski

February 2, 2010

Demo each size first to see if its the ski for you. But i would say go with 182 cause they do ski shorter, but at higher faster speeds you engage the entire edge. I have about 20 days on the 191. They are great at slower speeds carving and really nice opening it up and bombing.

Salomon Shogun Ski

January 18, 2010

Go with the 191, they ski much short then that due to early rise tip. I am 5'9", 200 lbs, level 9 and skied my 191 for the first time today. They are a great all mountain ski.

Salomon Shogun Ski

Sam, Go longer then you think. I just skied my 191 for the first time today, and loved them. To bad they do not make a longer one, but I have my 198 XW labs for that. They ski much shorter then the length cause of the early rise tip. They can carve a really good short turn, but also are great at really high speeds, carving monster turns. I mounted a pair of Sth 16 and they are great, but I also weigh 200 lbs. The 14's have a different toe piece this year and you can not adjust wings, like on older 14's and the new 16's.

Salomon Shogun Ski

GO LONGER!!! My philosophy is every new ski should be pushing you at first. Just like you should always ski with people better then you. I ski the 198 XW Labs all the time, and just picked up the 191 Shoguns. Ive been on 188 GUNS for 3 seasons now and have loved them, but they are noodles now due to the foam core, so I'm pumped about the Shoguns and the bamboo core and basalt fiber layer.

The Boat Show

Salomon XW Lab Ski

Salomon XW Lab Ski

Rating for this product: 5 January 10, 2010

Going on second season with these beasts. LOVE THEM. They are not for average all mtn. skier. I was put on big skis as a young kid by my big bro and will never go small. I also weigh 200 lbs, and have found, my weight over powers smaller skis. I ski Steamboat 100+ a season and it might not be the best mountain for big skis, but they are the perfect ski for the Champagne Powder. Massive wide softer tip, yet narrow stiffer tips (for such a big ski) making turning a breeze. They allow me to rip tight tree lines and tear through bumps better then my center mounted 188 Guns. For the few skiers out there looking for that long stick, and like fast, highspeed lines, I recommend this ski. I also own Shoguns and they are the best all around ski.
