Maui Jim Freight Trains Sunglasses - Polarized

September 19, 2011

What you are seeing isn't an imperfection, it is the point where the frame holds the lens securely in place. It is strictly cosmetic and will only be noticed if you take the glasses off and hold them up to an LCD screen. It does not impact the performance of the lens. The Evolution lens material in this frame actually has a very high level of clarity, especially when compared to polycarbonate.

Maui Jim makes a lens color called HT (high transmission) that was developed for sports such as tennis. The ball will really pop with this lens color. Yes, you can get them in Rx, but you'll have to find a local Maui Jim dealer to do that for you.

Maui Jim Makaha MauiReader Sunglasses - Polarized

October 25, 2010

The Maui Jim Ho'okipa is larger than the Makaha. They are both part of Maui Jim's Sport collection and are awesome! The Hookipa is Maui Jim's #1 seller and the Makaha is #2, so you can't go wrong. And yes, almost all optometrists/opthamologists love Maui Jims because of their outstanding optical clarity.

Most likely you just need to get them adjusted to fit correctly behind your ears. All Maui jim's can be custom fit because of their optical grade frames. Even the plastic frames have a wire core so that they will retain their shape after being adjusted.

Maui Jim Akoni Sunglasses - Polarized

April 1, 2010

Maui Jim's glass lenses are 20% thinner than conventional glass lenses, therefore they are 20% lighter. But glass is still a little heavier than polycarbonate or their Evolution lens material. If they are falling off when you look down , then they probably just need to be adjusted to fit correctly behind your ears. All Maui Jims can be custom fit to their owner.

Maui Jim Cyclone Sunglasses - Polarized

September 22, 2009

Both the Cyclone and the Shoreline are Rx able, but it depends on your prescription because there are limits. Also, there are many lens choices from MJ, so price is dependent on what you choose. As far as quality goes, MJ makes all of their own Rx lenses so you will receive the same quality as the non Rx version. Your local eye Dr should be able to help you out. You won't regret getting MJ prescription, they have the most state of the art lab in the world!

I have a pair of these and they are great! The Glass lenses are clear as day and are very tough. As far as the Temples having too much bow; they have a metal core in the temple so they can be custom fit to your noggin (no matter how big!) just take them to your Eye Dr or a sunglass specialty store and they will custom fit them for free!!!

Maui Jim Kaimana Sunglasses

April 18, 2009

Anything Maui Jim makes is awesome for salt water fishing since all of their lenses are polarized and have a water proof coating on them (H2O just beads up and rolls off!). Maui Jim is the Title sponsor of many Marlin fishing tournaments in Hawaii. One of which I was lucky enough to attend (amazing fun!). I obviously wouldn't choose anything other than Maui Jim.

Maui Jim Pele Sunglasses

Rating for this product: 5 January 16, 2009

This glass is one of the most comfortable glasses ever! It is very light weight and hugs your head. Some people have had issues with the arms breaking, so I spoke with Maui Jim and they said if I do have a problem, arms are FREE forever! So, not only are you getting a great sunglass, but you are getting a better warranty. I think if there is a problem, what matters is how the company backs up their product. I have owned several Mauis and will own several more!
