Volkl Gotama Ski

I am 6' 185 - 195ish with pack. I ski this in a 194, 2cm back from true center. This is my go to ski for AT, and I've ditched my Kendo's in favor of this on hard pack at the resorts. I upgraded from 183 Gotama's - WAY TOO SHORT. The new 194's have been perfect for me in East Coast trees and hard pack, and out in Colorado trees. Go longer - you'll be happy with the additional stability on open lines.

I think Lars said it rather succinctly.
If you are an expert skier and can drive a ski, you will have no trouble at all carving up the entire mountain like you're on a couple Ginsus. Not so hot in the bumps at Cannon, but they were all ice anyway.
194cm, Barons center mount. Sharp edges.

Volkl Kendo Ski

Ethan - you need a cheeseburger, or two :)
I am 6' 185 and ski the 184 Kendo. If it were any shorter I think it would feel like snowblades. This ski definitely needs to be powered, but the 177 for your height and weight would be a good fit, I think, based on other friends your size skiing on Mantras. It's not the same thing, but close enough I think the comparison holds.

Dude, I'm 6' 190. Used to race. Bought the 186's, cause I was skiing almost all trees and BC with it. It's stout, but in wide open areas, a little more ski would be great. I'd say get the 190. For your size and skill level, a little more meat means more float and more speed in the open areas. It's gonna take more effort to move around in the tight stuff though.
