This picture shows both shoulder straps tearing away from the 2" webbing. The webbing is attached to the top foam layer of the shoulder strap only-Beware.

CamelBak Octane 8+ Hydration Pack - 2L

Rating for this product: 2 May 11, 2009

I bought this pack based on the good reviews posted here. The pack itself has good volume and is layed out pretty well overall. The quality is an issue however. The shoulder straps are sewn to 2" webbing with the stiching going only thru the top foam layer of the shoulder strap, not thru the entire strap. Both shoulder straps are tearing away from the stitching after 2 short day hikes. I've since returned this item for a refund. The stitching should go thru the entire strap for strength as these straps bear much of the pack load. Since many of the camelbak packs are sew this way i would not recommend their packs.

Montrail Continental Divide Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 29, 2009

Been using these shoes for a few months now and I like them a lot. I primarily run on trails and these shoes have held up really well..no signs of coming apart-These are Tanks. Yes they are a bit heavy but they are very solid shoes! I plan on using them for light backpacking as well as trail running. I went a half size up to allow for foot swelling on summer backpacking trips. I've had no blisters with these shoes and they give great support and cushioning. Overall these are great shoes in my opinion for trail runs and packing light...not a road race shoe..way too heavy. They do require a break in period.
