Patagonia DAS Parka - Men's

Patagonia DAS Parka - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 9, 2008

After doing research for belay parka in mid-winter Canadian Rocky weather, I desided to take this. But not many stores curry this, so I couldn't try before ordering, and wondering between XS and S. I'm using men's S, women's S & M with Patagonia, depends on what kind of fit I wanna get for the activity. Since I was going to use this especialy for cold belay time on ice, I decided to go S. Sure it makes me look like huge frosty, but I can fit it over hurness full of gears and even ice ax, and covers my bum compretely while inner pockets hold wet groves and even camera to keep it warm. Impressive. So warm, so comfy, only problem is that it exaggerates how it's cold where it's not covered by DAS.

Light & Warm

Patagonia Micro Puff Hooded Jacket - Women's

Patagonia Micro Puff Hooded Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 June 9, 2008

I got this jacket to use as a belay jacket for Spring~fall season in Canadian Rockies. Surprisingly warm for this weight, and can be pretty small in the back. Since I bought, I always carry this for multi-pitch climb. Few downsides are, that sometimes hood made me annoyed cause it doesn't stay well on the helmet, and fabric is a bit fragile against the rock. Mine is full of duct tape patch already after few long route.

La Sportiva Mythos Climbing Shoe - Women's

La Sportiva Mythos Climbing Shoe - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 June 9, 2008

Just love it. This is the second shoe I've ever bought, and I swear my third shoe will be this one again. So comfortable yet great enough for hard edgeing and smearing. It's expensive shoes, but totally worth it!

Nice Climbing Pants

Patagonia Simple Guide Pants- Women's

Patagonia Simple Guide Pants- Women's

Rating for this product: 4 June 9, 2008

I bought this for alpine climbing and mix climbing, and it serves me great. It is so stretchy, never bothers my move, and super light with enough protection. Although I don't think I'm gonna use it for mix climb again since it soaked completely after the ice pitch, I'm sure I love this pants for alpine climb in the Rockies. The coderock on the waist band is uncomfortable against skin, so I took it out.

Great for hiking and long approach terrain

La Sportiva Trango Light Low Hiking Shoe - Men's

La Sportiva Trango Light Low Hiking Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 June 9, 2008

I picked up this since my other La Sportiva shoes (Mythoes) serves me so good, and I'm so happy with this approach shoes too! It's pretty stiff so it's perfect for long rugged approach, or light and first hike. Not a running shoes at all, but still I can comfortably run down trail after climb. I'm using it with the superfeet for extra support since I have a bad ankle. I'll buy same pair again!!

Best Jacket ever

Arc'teryx Gamma MX Hooded Jacket - Women's

Arc'teryx Gamma MX Hooded Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 March 28, 2008

For backcountry skiing, alpine climbing, and also walk in the town, this is my must-have jacket now, and I can't survive without it anymore! Great stretchy material doesn't bother me at all when I do any hard move on rock, and I love this hood which fit over a helmet when I get cold while I'm belaying, and it doesn't disturb head movement either, like hard shell hoody does. Only thing sometimes bothers me is the cuff. Elastic is a bit too tight when I want to roll up for warm temperature.
