Mountain Hardwear Monkey Man Fleece Jacket - Men's

April 19, 2012

A sizing dilemma..

I think I am stuck between 2 sizes here (as happened before with the Patagonia micropuff pullover).. I am about 5'10" and maybe 170 lbs or so with an slim(ish) athletic build. I think my arms are too short because I ordered the medium and it fits rather snug (like I could only wear my medium sized tshirt underneath and the armpits are real tight). Snug is okay, the big issue is the sleeves are like 3 inchs too long and thus the whole arms 'bundle' up and look all wavy.

I am considering returning for a large to solve the arm pit and general snugness.. Problem being if I do so I am assuming the large will have even longer sleeves (oh no!). Can anyone confirm or deny this? Any thoughts on my first world crisis issue here?

Thanks!

Made rain enjoyable

Sierra Designs Hurricane Accelerator Jacket - Men's

Sierra Designs Hurricane Accelerator Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 April 26, 2011

I used to hate rain. Now I it's definitely bearable with this awesome jacket. It's comfortable and does work in the rain. The light fleece inside also makes it warm for those chilly rainy spring days. The only drawback is the hood is massive, seriously Chewbecca does not even need this large of a hood. But it does come with cinches which makes bearable. Otherwise a bomb jacket, with sweet features like stuff sack.

Fantastic all around knife

CRKT Elishewitz Montu Assisted Opening Knife

CRKT Elishewitz Montu Assisted Opening Knife

Rating for this product: 5 April 26, 2011

I love this knife. I got it for a good price on SAC (~$25=steal) and it was definitely worth it. It does everything well. It is the perfect weight I think.. Heavy enough to feel legit but not too heavy to weigh down yourself. Its light enough for the pocket but its not a light weight knife by any means. The blade is sharp and build construction excellent. Also it looks beautiful. Definitely buy it now. The assist opening is nice and does not flick open on accident (yet). It also has a locking mechanism that keeps it locked open. I could go on and on, but basically just buy it and you wont regret it.

Great functional and looking jacket

Sierra Designs Fresco Insulated Jacket - Men's

Sierra Designs Fresco Insulated Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 April 26, 2011

This jacket is great. It does work in the rain and is insulated enough to keep you warm on those rainy fall afternoons. It is very comfortable and has a lot of pockets and features that I really enjoy. It is one of my favorite jackets and is a great value for the price. However the only drawback is that it is a quite heavy.. Also another drawback is that they no longer sell it and I bought one size too large for me so I no longer own or have a chance at owning it. It is rather hard to find too, I cant find a replacement in medium.

Decent, small knife

Adventure Medical SOL Core Lite Knife

Adventure Medical SOL Core Lite Knife

Rating for this product: 3 April 26, 2011

I should have paid closer attention to the details about this knife because the blade is super small. The handle feels of very cheap construction (its plastic). Although it seems to be like it fulfills its taste well: a cheap, small knife with cutting light and whistle.. Not honestly sure I would recommend it.

Excellent light weight, packable rain coat

Sierra Designs Microlight Jacket - Men's

Sierra Designs Microlight Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 April 26, 2011

I got this jacket for a good price and it is definitely worth its value. It is a great jacket to pack up and use as a shell for when its raining. It comes with a pack pouch that is rather compact. I have not used it for extended (mult-hour) rain storms but it works well for the light or medium showers. But if you are looking for a 100% multi-hour rain coat this might now have that type of longevity.
