Norrøna Trollveggen Warm2 Fleece Jacket - Men's

April 15, 2009

I'm 5'10" 160-165 and I ordered a medium (I'm a medium in EVERYTHING). Got it today and it's on the way back. The fit was waaay too tight. It felt like a skin shirt or something. I'm afraid to order the large looking at those specs.

Do you think the large will be too long? The medium felt tight everywhere...

Is the material on this similar to the MH monkey jacket? Are these made for tall people?

Volkl Bridge Alpine Ski

March 29, 2009

I'm looking to purchase my skis for next season. It's between the Volkl Bridge, Volkl Mantra, Line Prophet 90, 4FRNT MSP and Liberty Hazmats. I'm also open to other suggestions, but these seem to be the front runners in the all mtn category....

I ski groomers about 70% of the time (mostly because Beaver Creek, my home mtn, gooms EVERYTHING), but I find myself skiing less and less of them. I am always on the lookout for pow. I've also been venturing off into the trees a bit more. I tend to stay out of the bumps and have no desire to ride park. Which of these would you recommend for an intermediate/beginning advanced skier? I ski in CO. Thanks in advance for your help!

Thinking Arc'teryx? Think Again!

Outdoor Research Mentor Jacket - Men's

Outdoor Research Mentor Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 18, 2009

I had been deciding between the Arc'teryx Sidewinder AR and this jacket. While Arc'teryx makes an awesome product, I decided to keep the Mentor based on a few reasons:

1. Better mobility. I found the Sidewinder rode up too much--especially if you're a climber.
2. The Mentor has two pockets on the inside compared to the 1 on the sidewinder for those of you like me who carry around too much crap.
3. The Hood. The hood on the mentor is MUCH more adjustable. You don't need a helmet in order to keep from drowning in it.
4. The cut. The cut is awesome on this jacket. It's more of an athletic fit than the sidewinder is, but still allows room for layering.
5. OR customer service and warranty is awesome!
6. The ventilation system, as has already been mentioned, is awesome!

Honestly, the only thing I wish OR would do with this jacket is offer some better colors, but at the same time, I'm not out there to look pretty.

*I'm 5'10" 165 and ordered a Medium.
