Great shirt!

The North Face Chesterton Crew Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Men's

The North Face Chesterton Crew Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 June 5, 2009

This is the shirt! Plain, nothing fancy, not too warm, exactly the right shirt for winter days here in the South West. I got four of them, all black, and all of them of the same great quality. After two winters, continously wearing one of them every day, they show a little wear around the elbows since I have a deskjob. But that is what I expect from the material and you can always roll up the sleeves. The seams are still perfect and the colour is still dark black. The one I bought three years ago is showing some fading out now but that's okay. All in all a great shirt very much worth the money.

Good sandal

Teva Terra Fi II Sandal - Men's

Teva Terra Fi II Sandal - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 June 5, 2009

I like this model. Fits perfect once I figured out the correct size; took me only two tries.

Anyway, they are very comfortable and have good cushioning. I tend to agree about the plastic thing but not the one on the sides but the one on top of the ankle. It is not too bad if you do not tie everything down too much but I can imagine, that it becomes annoying once you really decide to hike in them and walk downhill. But hey, they are not hiking boots, so do not expect too much.

The velcros are on the better side of the velcro universe. They are not falling apart after three weeks of use which is a huge plus. My last pair of sandals suffered exactly from that and I had them for three years. Boy am I glad I got these here now. I like especially that when I ride my bicycle, which has cages, my feet do not slip in the sandal while I am standing up and climbing smaller hills.

And they come in black. Yes, real black. Not in asphalt, not dark grey that looks in the picture like black. No, real dark black. Nothing fancy, no yellow stipes or ladybug patches. Nothing, just plain black. That's how I like it.

I am not sure what one could do to improve the sandal. Yes, perhaps the plastic things top of the ankle. But I'm not sure what one could do about it.

And I would not spend more than $60 for them because, you know, they are sandals and not dress shoes.

Good backpack

The North Face Hot Shot Backpack - 1850cu in

The North Face Hot Shot Backpack - 1850cu in

Rating for this product: 4 June 5, 2009

I do a lot of commuting on my bicycle, and the backback fits very good when i ride. I would not use it during a century but for the short distances around town it is great. Good padding, confortable straps. It is even better when I carry my laptop in the place for the blatter. The laptop fits perfectly and I can now go on business trips without the clunky Dell bckpack that I have. One con is there though. The compression straps in the middle obstruct the zippers. This is a little bit annoying but as the backpack is designed, it is unavoidable. For the price a very decent backpack.
