Smith 2008 Variant Helmet

December 19, 2008

Does Smith offer the ability to retrofit the visor-less version with a visor? I got this helmet last spring as a gift (I assume it was discounted) and would have preferred the model with a visor. Thanks!

Oakley Pipe Glove

Oakley Pipe Glove

Rating for this product: 5 February 22, 2006

These gloves are just what I was after, something to transition between my Hestras (full blizzard / very cold) and my spring gloves. I got the white, which look very cool but get dirty easily. They fit nicely, aren't too bulky, and keep me plenty warm on sunny Utah days.

Grabber Heat Treat Hand Warmers

Grabber Heat Treat Hand Warmers

Rating for this product: 5 February 22, 2006

These do the job they say they do—quick and long-lasting heat. I like to put them in the palm of my glove to keep my hands warm, but they'll go anywhere.

Wonderful Product

The North Face Redpoint Optimus Jacket - Men's

The North Face Redpoint Optimus Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 January 19, 2006

I bought this jacket for inbounds use in Utah (Alta, Snowbird, Park City, etc) so I was looking for something semi-warm that would hold up in a snowstorm. This jacket is perfect for the application I had in mind - I throw on a wind stopper shirt underneath for big storms, and just a long-sleeve t-shirt for sunny days. My only gripes are that the collar pulls up against my neck and face due to the design of the hood, and that the hood has an elasticized opening instead of a drawstring. Even with those two inconveniences, this is a great jacket - just the right amount of weatherproof-ness and warmth.

Teton Gravity Research Dream On DVD

Teton Gravity Research Dream On DVD

Rating for this product: 3 January 16, 2006

This is just a promotional DVD - some good footage, but about what you would expect from a free gift with purchase type of thing. The start screen was a little confusing to navigate because I kept thinking there was more to the DVD.
