Accelerade Hydro Sports Drink

Accelerade Hydro Sports Drink

Rating for this product: 4 September 30, 2010

The fruit punch flavor is decent. I was really worried about the flavor, and waited until I tried a friend's stash to buy my own. No a fan of the lemonade flavor, though.
I use it mainly for cycling and I'm happy with it. It helps on my longer rides and bricks.

Patagonia Nano Puff Pullover Insulated Jacket - Women's

I"m 5'4" and 135. I wear a medium. A small would be a close fit, and if she wants to layer, I'd go with a medium.

Reef Sweetwater Sandal - Women's

Reef Sweetwater Sandal - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 August 17, 2010

I'm a Reef fanatic. These aren't quite as comfy as the Reef Slap Sandals, but are a lot cuter and still very comfortable. I'm good walking around in them all day. They have a more girly look than the Slaps, but are still wider than other Reef models I've tried on. I'm a 7.5, and I wear an 8.

Burton Gig Bag - 09/10

August 12, 2010

I have a 170 2-board bag with a 151 board. I can pack everything in it for a long weekend on the mountain (including bindings, boots, helmets, goggles, pants, jacket, and all other clothing). If you want to pack lots, get a bag that advertises that it can hold two boards.

La Sportiva Onix GTX-XCR Hiking Boot - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 July 15, 2010

So far, so good. I'm in the process of breaking these in. They are true to size. They were a little stiff around the ankle, but they get a little more comfortable every time I wear them. They'll be accompanying me to Kilimanjaro in the winter (where I won't be carrying more than a 30L day-pack because we have to hire porters) and I think they'll be perfect.

Go a size down!

Oakley Straight Pant - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 July 15, 2010

I have these pants in Vivid Blue, Size Medium. While, my measurements are on the higher end of the medium pants, they are HUGE! I saw reviews and I figured there was no way I was a size small in these pants - I think I should be.

I kept my mediums and I like them. They're roomy, and I can layer well in them. I also really like the snaps on the back, so I can snap up the back of the leg, so I'm not walking on the back of my pants.

They've survived two seasons so far! I even managed to wash the blood off of them from a minor snowboarding incident.

Bottom line: big, baggy, warm, comfortable, durable, awesome. If you're looking for body-hugging style, this is not your pant.

If you'd rather be comfortable, have room for movement, and stay toasty - go for these.

Love my Troop!

Burton Troop Snowboard - Women's - 09/10

Rating for this product: 5 July 15, 2010

I have the '09 Burton Troop and I love it. It's a fantastic all-mountain board. I'm 5'4" and 130lbs, so I got a 151cm. It was long enough for powder days, but not too long for the other stuff.

Ladies, if you want a board to take you all over the mountain, get this one.

Giro G10 Helmet

Rating for this product: 5 July 15, 2010

I had the unfortunate experience of crash-testing this helmet. I managed to hit the back of my head on the ground so hard that my nose started bleeding. Thanks to the helmet, my skull and everything inside it remained in tact.

I highly recommend it, though I hope you never actually need it!

The North Face Paramount Porter Convertible Pant - Women's

The North Face Paramount Porter Convertible Pant - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 July 15, 2010

I need trekking pants for my upcoming trip to Kilimanjaro, so I decided to give these a try.

I got these pants in a size 8 regular. I'm 5'4", 130lbs, 29" waist, 39" hips. They fit comfortably, and the length is good. They have buttons to roll up the legs, and they zip off at a decent length for shorts. I got the marsh green color and I really like them. They're kind of that army olive green color - not the color they looked like on my computer.

Costa Del Mar Twilight Polarized Sunglasses - Costa 400 Glass Lens

Rating for this product: 5 July 15, 2010

I had these in the fade/dark amber... until I lost them :(

They were great for pretty much everything, even out on the water in the middle of the afternoon in South Florida! The lenses were great, the frames were durable...

Definitely recommend them for girls with a medium face that like square/rectangular lenses, if you're the type not to lose sunglasses.

Smith Redline Sunglasses

Rating for this product: 5 July 15, 2010

I'm a girl with a medium-sized face. These fit me really well and have been great for running. They stay on my face, and on my head (when the lovely South Florida storm clouds roll in). I'm a big fan.
The lenses are great, for not being polarized. If I didn't lose sunglasses relatively often, I'd buy some polarized lenses for them.

I'm a girl with a medium-sized face. These fit well and look pretty good! They seem durable. The lenses are great.

The do allow a little light in on the outside of the frame at the top, but with a style like this, that's what you are going to get.

Duke approves!

Ruffwear Portage Float Coat Dog Lifejacket

Rating for this product: 5 July 15, 2010

Yeah, this is a little pricey for a life vest for a dog, but it's totally worth it.

My 60lb Lab/Pit mix used to get sick from swallowing water every time he went swimming. With the vest, he get's that extra bit of flotation he needs to keep his head above water! The handle on top helps me yank him out when he can't quite climb up the side of the pool or lake by himself.

It seems like it's going to last forever.

Great shoe

La Sportiva Mythos Vibram XS Grip2 Climbing Shoe - Women's

La Sportiva Mythos Vibram XS Grip2 Climbing Shoe - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 July 15, 2010

Love these shoes. I've had them for about a year (indoors about 2x a week, outdoors a few times a season), and they're still holding strong.

They're a good all-around shoe. They're not too aggressive.

Lots of climbing shoes dug into the back of my ankle. These didn't!

I'm usually a 7.5. I got a 39.5 in these. I probably could have gotten a 39, but I wanted a bit more comfort. I'm a recreational climber, and I'd rather have shoes I can wear for a few hours without too much pain than super-tight shoes with slightly better control.

Works for me

Black Diamond Primrose AL Harness - Women's

Black Diamond Primrose AL Harness - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 July 15, 2010

I've had this harness for about a year now. I should have gotten a small, but the medium is working for me... 29" waist... obviously I didn't look closely enough at the size chart.

It's comfortable. It's easy to get it tangled and put a leg on up-side down, but if you check it, you're good to go.

The 4 gear loops provide lots of space for everything you need. It's great inside the gym. If I did more outdoor climbing, I'd want something lighter.

Arc'teryx Handler Hooded Jacket - Women's

Arc'teryx Handler Hooded Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 July 7, 2010

I have this jacket in Canary. The yellow is a little darker than the picture shows, and I love it.

I'm 5'4", 130 lbs, and according to the size chart, a medium. It fits well, with a little extra space around the waist. I've got room to layer. I probably could have gotten a small if I didn't have big swimmer's shoulders.

It's thin, but warmer than it seems like it would be. It'll be great for layering once the weather gets cold again!
