Lateral Issues

Naxo nx21 Alpine Touring Binding

Naxo nx21 Alpine Touring Binding

Rating for this product: 3 November 9, 2007

Still having a little too much lateral play than I would like to see. I am skiing a stiff long Sugar Daddy charging all types of snow. I see very poor hard pack in resort groom performance. You might be a little disappointed if you are trying to have an all around ski that rips on hard pan in, or out of the resort! They glide so much nicer than their competition however. So if you are planning on a backcountry ski, choose wisely for this binding. Its best for crud, and pow where you get a little more play with floaty turns. High performance carving will disappoint you on this binding so don't expect to get a ripper ski and put these binding on the and expect to look good in your one piece suit at the resort. So you just need to buy two, maybe three pair of skis. Like we all should. Still searching for that binding that I can put on any ski, I just don't think they make one yet.

Pros - Easy to transition to different steepness with the heal risers, good combo with the crampons you can buy, glide better than all the others,

Cons - Heavier, lateral flex too much

Light Ski

Atomic Sugar Daddy Alpine Ski

Atomic Sugar Daddy Alpine Ski

Rating for this product: 4 November 9, 2007

I set up this ski to put AT binding on it and be my pow ski. It outperforms any ski that I have ever been on pow and surprisingly the crud, I mean real bad crud. For those that like to GS down steep mountains this ski will really open up the mountain in bad snow days. Fun Fun Fun. I disagree a little with the other postings. I feel they are poor on the packed. I suggest getting a different ski if you are skiing groomers or any type of ice. The waist is just too wide to get things done properly. The lights big ski! Purchase something a little shorter as well. You don't need too long of a ski, these babies float well!!! and GS and slam through crud extremely well.
