Bio:
I like being outside, usually in the mountains, with my girlfriend and my dog. It doesn't matter if i'm on skis, a bike, or in my hiking boots. being outdoors is the best.

MontBell Alpine Light Down Parka - Men's

i'm 6'1" 175 lbs and i got the large. it fits perfect. i wouldn't go for a medium as it has a pretty trim fit to it.

Armada ARG Alpine Ski
January 13, 2009
Markers. Anything in the Royalty series. Dukes are epic, as are Barons, but only get those if you plan on using the climbing function. If not, Griffins and Jesters. They can feel a little parky, and if that bothers you, the 4FRNT Deadbolt.I would recommend the solly STH 16 or rossi free XXL. way safer than markers.

Hestra Army Leather Gore-Tex XCR Glove
December 10, 2008
Hestra gloves are the shit. period. you'll never ever own a better glove. if you take good care of the leather (applying lanolin every 2-3 ski days) they will last forever, and stay super waterproof.

Beal Rando 30m Rope DryCover - 8mm
December 5, 2008
Can anyone comment on this rope's rappel capabilities? i've just bought one for glacier travel but was hoping that i could use it for couloir/cornice rappels as well, instead of hauling my giant rope into the BC

Armada JJ Alpine Ski
December 5, 2008
If your looking for ski for JUST powder go ARG, but they do not ski anywhere else very good. I would go JJ's you could ski your AR6's (excellent skis) in the park and your JJ's else where and still float like crazy in the deep pow, Yes they are that good.ARG's are incredible in super deep tight trees, but like willie says, they're not so versatile. if you are only getting one more ski, get the JJ. if you are building a quiver and want the ULTIMATE all-pow all the time, go with ARG

183......I am 5'11" and 180 and ski the 190.If he is an aggressive skier, go with the 183. If he's a weekend warrior who only makes it to the hill about 20 days a year, go for the 176.

Black Diamond GlideLite Nylon STS Skins
November 24, 2008
I disagree with the above answer. i would get a 90 or 100mm skin. it's ok if you leave your tip and tail without skin coverage.

Arc'teryx Sidewinder SV Jacket - Men's
November 7, 2008
sidewinder has a zipper that travels up the side of your face instead of a center zip. pockets are also in different spots on the jacket, and the alpha cut is slimmer. sidewinder has a recco reflector (pretty much useless).more generally, alpha sv is built for going up (mountaineering, ice climbing), sidewinder is built for going down (backcountry/big mountain skiing)

Hestra Vertical Cut Freeride Glove
November 6, 2008
The glove is as waterproof as you want it to be. be sure to apply liberal amounts of the hestra glove lanolin to make sure they stay dry.
