I have a whole bunch of models of rappelling baskets, and the Black Diamond ATC-XP is the best and most comfortable to use. Don't waste your time and get the best. This is it.

Everyone uses this harness

Black Diamond Alpine Bod Harness

Black Diamond Alpine Bod Harness

Rating for this product: 5 October 11, 2004

My buddy who climbed Everest twice told me everyone uses this harness. I have about six of them for the family, and haven't found a better or more practical harness. Plus, last year's model is basically the same as this year and can be had for about half the price of the new one.

TNF Inferno Sleeping Bag

The North Face Inferno Endurance Sleeping Bag: -40 Degree Down

The North Face Inferno Endurance Sleeping Bag: -40 Degree Down

Rating for this product: 5 September 24, 2004

This bag is outstanding! 5 Years ago I had the same model and this one is even better. It has some cool woven labels on the front with the model and other info. I tried it at 5500 meters =18,044 ft on "Campo Argentino" in Bolivia's Huayna Potosi mountain. The night was particularly cold, but I had no problem at all with this bag. I did use a pad though, as we camped on a glacier. Get it!

Primus Stove

Primus Omni Fuel Stove

Primus Omni Fuel Stove

Rating for this product: 5 September 17, 2004

This is a great stove! I used two of them climbing Illimani in Bolivia and at 5000 and 6000 meters they worked fine. I do recomend using gas, simply because it's what all the pros use and is less troublesome. The build quality is impressive, and the manual that is included is simply... spectacular. It's like getting insider analysis on every fuel option, tips, and everything in between. No doubt the best stove out there.
