SmartWool Adrenaline Light Crew Hiking Sock

SmartWool Adrenaline Light Crew Hiking Sock

Rating for this product: 5 June 18, 2009

I purchased these to use with the paddock boots I ride horses in, and they have been very comfortable. Perfect height for corresponding boots, and they haven't slipped down. They've handled sweat well, but in dampness from rain, they stayed damp for a long time. They are still quite comfortable though.

Clifbar Clif Shot Bloks - 18 Pack

June 16, 2009

There are so many choices when it comes to energy products. I am not very familiar with them. Does anyone have advice as to what type would be most suited for the following situation? I would like something for when I'm doing a lot of running/crawling with my basic gear on for the Army - not full battle rattle, but about 50 lbs added to me. I don't want caffeine highs. My body doesn't like caffeine much, and I need to be able to have a steady hand still. I'm an expert marksman and my unit still needs to utilize me as such when training or in theater. Thank you in advance for any advice you offer.

Not Good

Pearl Izumi Attack Low Sock - Women's

Pearl Izumi Attack Low Sock - Women's

Rating for this product: 2 June 4, 2009

I'm not into these socks. The fabric is rough, and I don't like how you can see through the top of them so well. The sizing chart is inaccurate; they run small! I did not find them to be very comfortable.

Very impressed!

Mammut Illimani Jacket - Women's

Mammut Illimani Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 June 4, 2009

This shell is so lightweight, breathable, and waterproof. This is my first Mammut product, and boy am I glad I tried them out. The fit is so extremely great. It's definitely shaped for a woman. It shows off my figure, the sleeves are long enough (I'm 5'11") and the body is the length I wanted for a rain jacket (not too long). You can tell that this jacket is pure quality. The materials are very comfortable. Most of it feels like a soft shell. The other material on the arms is thinner, which I like so that the jacket doesn't feel too heavy when used for rain.

Superb!

Superfeet Premium Insole - Men's

Superfeet Premium Insole - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 June 4, 2009

These winter ones are as great as all of the other Superfeet insoles. The fleecy top is nice for this cold weather version, and the foil has held up well even though Superfeet warns about its durability. The way Superfeet insoles are firm ends up feeling so much better and giving you more support than more cushioned insoles. The high arch hits further back than most insoles, which supports my arch better than any other I've tried. They keep you from over-pronating, although I've never had a tendency to, myself. I tend to be more supinated if anything, but the deep heel cup in Superfeet insoles keep my ankle straight. Superfeet is the only way to go. Go to their website to see which of their insoles you should get.

Superfeet Trim-To-Fit Green Insole

I use these Greens for my military boots, seeing as how Green is for maximum shock absorption. Superfeet Trim-To-Fit Green Insole

They are not at all one-size-fits-all. The size ranges are there (maybe they weren't before?) for men and women.

Superfeet Trim-To-Fit Green Insole

June 4, 2009

I've never had that problem, but according to Superfeet's website, it's possible that your heel is too wide for the heel cup. In this case, they recommend buying the next size up.

Superfeet Trim-To-Fit Orange Insole

June 4, 2009

Superfeet Yellow is made for ski boots. They allow for a better fit in tighter-fitting footwear like skates and ski boots, they have ventilation, and they are made for footwear with a raised heel like skates, ski boots, and western boots.

Superfeet Trim-To-Fit Orange Insole

Superfeet Trim-To-Fit Orange Insole

Rating for this product: 5 June 4, 2009

I have used Superfeet Greens for my military boots, and I loved them so much that I figured I'd get these orange ones for some of my less-impact-intense footwear. The way Superfeet insoles are firm ends up feeling so much better and giving you more support than more cushioned insoles. The high arch hits further back than most insoles, which supports my arch better than any other I've tried. They keep you from over-pronating, although I've never had a tendency to, myself. So comfortable!

SmartWool PhD Running Light Micro Sock

SmartWool PhD Running Light Micro Sock

Rating for this product: 5 June 4, 2009

I prefer the ultra-light version, but these are still nice and light. I've been a Thorlos fan for a long time, but I must admit, I love the feel and performance of these socks while running or just going about my day. They conform to your foot quite well, and they don't make your feet hot. The fabric is comfortable, but sometimes the excess material alongside the short stripes on top of the sock push into my skin to the point where I notice it. I haven't had them very long, so I hope they last.

A fit that's hard to find

686 Smarty Admiral Jacket - Women's

686 Smarty Admiral Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 June 4, 2009

I am 5'11" and have a pretty solid, athletic build from the Army. It's tough to find winter clothing that doesn't make me look the size of a man or have sleeves too short. This jacket is well-fitted to my figure, allowing for a slender, curvy outline. The length of the torso and sleeves are adequate for me, as well.

I've had this jacket for over six months, and it's been holding up perfectly. The quality of the materials and design feels like a $300 jacket. I haven't had a problems with waterproofness or breathability. I got the one called Black Dot Pin, but it isn't actually black; it has a dark purple base, and the lighter accents are a light lavender.
