Pulse Barryvox - so simple

Mammut Pulse Barryvox Avalanche Beacon

This thing is so easy to use, me and my buddy just switched the things on and could use it around the garden out of the box without reading the instructions. This bodes well for the occassional vacation skier. We did read the instructions before taking them up the hill of course!Highly recommended.

It's the nuts

DAKINE Concourse Double Ski Bag

DAKINE Concourse Double Ski Bag

Rating for this product: 5 February 27, 2008

Be careful when you order one of these that it's the upto date version - you will see other sites offering older concourse bags which don't have the boot compartments etc. This bag is huge - fits all my kit in. The only drawback is fitting it in my car (need to buy a bigger car) and possibly going overweight for some airlines.

Amazing

DAKINE Concourse Double Ski Bag

DAKINE Concourse Double Ski Bag

Rating for this product: 5 February 27, 2008

Fog free on a really crappy white out with wet snow falling all day. The fan makes a little noise that you may notice on the lift but not noticeable when skiing around. The sensor mirror lens has awesome clarity in low light.

Nice and compact

Backcountry Access Tour Shovel System

Backcountry Access Tour Shovel System

Rating for this product: 5 February 27, 2008

Nice bit of lightweight compact kit for the vacation skier, if I was on the backside of the mountain everyday I'd probably want a longer probe and bigger shovel. For me this is a good compromise for my needs (side country skiing).

Good bit of kit but strap is crap

Mammut Pulse Barryvox Avalanche Beacon

Mammut Pulse Barryvox Avalanche Beacon

Rating for this product: 5 February 27, 2008

Forgot to add in my original review, the strap for this isn't much good. Despite spending hours to try and adjust it and get it snug, it kept slipping whilst skiing. Why don't they make a proper 4 strap harness instead of the 3 strap one? Ended up putting the transciever in my pocket and attaching it to my jacket via the beacon clip and my jacket clip.
