Size Help - My boots have a BSL of 316 and I cant decide which size I should get since my boots would fit into both sizes. Is there a benefit or drawback from getting the larger size and same thing with going smaller?

I read somewhere that the 'special' 186 and 196 models are significantly stiffer and shaped a bit differently. anyone know if this is true or any info on this?
