Recently getting into trad leads and Im lovin the little pink tricam. Theyre a must on any rack and so far my personal favorite - the small Tricams, .5, 1, and, 1.5, can go many places where nothing else will. Absolutely light weight, fast drying, and the Vibram outsole was designed for boat decks. The Marine doesnt have as good of traction as a traditional wading boot so youll need to take caution when wet wading over mossy rocks and could stub a few rocks. For fly fishing in the summer I use the Orvis Wet Wading Shoe but its not as versatile as a sandal.

Snowshoe bindings are very compatible and fit many types of boots. In wintertime the most important factor is having dry, warm, and comfortable feet.
I recommend a good hiking boot with some sort of waterproof option and better one that flexes at the ball of the foot. If youre going to use snowboard boots Id take a closer look at the brands that are Snowboard Boot Compatible you can check the Tech Specs for this info.

What a great place to build an indoor rock wall. My best advice - check with your local indoor climbing gym they’re a wealth of knowledge and would certainly have a distributor name for you or on the cheaper side you maybe you could set up a fixed bolt with some slings and carabiners similar to top roping outside. How many routes are you planning to have?

The Axis does not have distance counter and is not compatible with any foot pod. It’s a nice Alt watch with a digital compass but is not ideal for running – I use it as backup when hiking or mountain running, the Axis is not user friendly and the side buttons are very stiff and annoying. Before you make your decision I recommend checking out Polar or the Garmin Forerunner or any other running style watch you’ll be much happier.

I highly recommend the Nalgene Encapsul Big Bore, 2/3L I use this in all my packs, great product for the $$ simple design, I haven’t found any flaws plus it’s easy to fill and comes with a convenient quick disconnect value system so you can quickly refill on the go. Not sure where to buy mine came with a North Face hydration pack similar to the NF Thresher.

Most snowshoe bindings work with any kind of boot, you could always try ordering a pair from backcounntry.com check for fit and if the boot fits then enjoy if not slap on the return label and exchange for another pair.

Hi Heather,I personally haven’t had the opportunity to try Redfeather snowshoes but based on size and weight the XT would make a decent snowshoe for running. If you plan to run a lot I would recommend going with the 21 inch. Also worth checking out is the Atlas Run which I use for running in winter all the time very happy with this brand and model but it looks like backcountry.com is temporality out the Atlas Run. Hope this helps & happy shopping!

Small should work fine, I'm 5'8 150 and the medium is just a little big on me. If you want one tight for all seasons then the CW-X Stabilyx Tight may be a better option - in really cold conditions I use the stabilyx as a baselayer under a wind/waterproof pant, works good in the spring too or when mountain running.

No, they don't. Snowboard boots are too large for the tight quarters of the binding. The best types of bindings for snowboard boots are those with stretchy Voile-type strap that will wrap around the boots. These types of bindings fit a far greater array of boots, foot sizes, etc. An example would be the MSR Evo Ascents. The MSRs also offer better traction for climbing and the heel raiser makes climbing up hills easier.Additional Info: TSL makes snowshoes that are Snowboard Boot Compatible like the 305 Explore and the 325 Escape. .

Forget them all and go for MSRRedfeather has a great reputation, the Hiker Series is their entry level model with a great price and will certainly do the trick if you want to get out have fun and kick some snow. If you spend a fraction more you’ll see significant improvements in the binding system and lighter frames as with the MSR recommend above. But it’s up to you to determine how to spend your hard earned bucks.

You posted this question under the Atlas 9 Series Elektra Snowshoe Package I take it you mean Snowshoeing not snowboarding? The above package is a great value and comes with everything to need to start having fun in the snow. Based on ur specs I would recommend the 23in, but if she’s going to be hiking with a pack you may want to get the 25in which is just a little bigger. And for snowboarding hop on over to backcountry.com snowboarding section or stop by the help center.

Tubbs Venture is a hiking snowshoe and fits men’s boot to size 13, so you may find trail shoes a little loose fitting. Could you run in the Venture yes absolutely but you may find the split claw crampon designed for climbing and descending will hinder your running stride, but this works great for hiking and some occasionally running, if you really want to run in snowshoes I would recommend the Atlas Run/Race which is a snowshoe entirely designed for running.

The Atlas 11 uses the same frame as the Atlas Run/Race Series but with the Atlas 11’s molded Wrapp Plus binding system and the aggressive tread for mountain hiking it will feel very awkward to run in. A better option may be to look at the Atlas Trail Walking Series 8 through 10.

Not so much. This is a much lighter weight snow shoe. You might check out the specific backpacking show shoes from Atlas. - You'll run into a number of problems using the Atlas Race on backcountry trails because Race has a narrow design and smaller toe crampons than the traditional snowshoe, plus with the spring load for running these are more like the racing flats of the snowshoe world. I would recommend the Atlas 12 series. RP
