Bio:
Jerry Guerra has an adventurous spirit and a passion for the outdoors. He owns www.UltraBargins.com He was raised minutes from the open waters off the west coast of Florida. He started free-diving the open water by the age of five and tank diving soon thereafter. Under the guidance of his father, with whom he still dives with today, Jerry’s love for the ocean became an obsession. His passion for the outdoors began when he joined the boy scouts. There he learned wilderness survival, canoeing, pioneering, backpacking, orientation, and outdoor ethics. While in the Boy Scouts of America he received the highest honor, Eagle Scout, by the age of 17.
At age 18 he joined the United States Marine Corps, and became an instructor for Military Water Survival. He surprised his associates with remarkable diving skills. Jerry completed his military S.C.U.B.A. training with re-breathers, enriched air Nitrox, and Tri-mix, taking him to depths below 250 feet.
Traveling the world as a civilian, Jerry has dove in Louisiana, North Carolina, Mexico, Costa Rica, The Caymans, The Bahamas and of course right off of Florida’s Atlantic and Gulf Coasts. Jerry has conditioned himself to hold his breath for over a four-minute period of exertion and over five minutes while motionless. This ability takes him to depths over 140 feet without a tank, spearing massive fish. Jerry considers his best achievement thus far to be the monster 272 pound Yellow Fin Tuna taken off the coast of Costa Rica in November of 2004. With his goals set for world records he continues his quest for the BIG FISH!
Jerry also climbs, backpacks, competes in triathlons, mountain bikes, and skydives. He has climbed in Zion National Park, Peru, Ireland, Mexico, Mount Rainier, Norway, and Iceland. His future aspirations are to complete each of the seven summits in the world trek Patagonia and backpack Europe!
