Awesome idea, poor execution.

Nixon Rotolog Watch - Men's

Nixon Rotolog Watch - Men's

Rating for this product: 2 January 16, 2008

I had been wanting one of these Nixon Rotolog watches with the wood inlays for a long time. I finally got the one with the Teak inlay band as a gift for Christmas. I was really excited when I saw it only to be quickly disappointed by the the fact that one of the wood panels in the band was bubbled up and not set properly. I contacted Nixon only to be told that I could send the watch back and if they deemed it a warranty issue they would fix it and return it in a week or two a week and i would have to pay shipping. They suggested I contact the seller. I called backcountry.com who was more than helpful. They offered a sincere apology for my trouble and confidently sent me another watch with a return label to send back the damaged one. I was very pleased with this sites prompt and appropriate response to my problem. Unfortunately the second watch came and one of the wood panels was cracked this time. Again backcountry.com came through saying they were confident it was a fluke and sent me a second replacement watch. I now received the 2nd replacement only to be disappointed a 3rd time. This watch was not damaged but was poorly assembled without attention to detail and several of the wood panels were cut too small leaving gaps in between the wood and band. At this point I have decided to give up on the watch and backcountry.com sent me a return label for all three watches and agreed to refund my money upon the return of the watches. This site gets 5 stars for customer service but I only gave the watch a 2 because the design concept is great but after 3 damaged watches in a row I can't possibly give Nixon and the Teak Rotolog a good rating or recommendation for this watch. Time to go back to the drawing board with this one Nixon.
