  • Stomping Grounds:

Wasatch Front, Pernambuco and Lemhi to name a few.
  • Bio:

I love the sappiness of Nature; fresh air, smell of the earth after rain, satisfaction of a brutal hike and the serenity of a swift sunrise/set. I love the energy of the outdoors.

Osprey Packs Argon 70 Backpack - 4300-4700cu in

Rating for this product: 5 3 days ago

Well built and great quality. Very comfortable in various types of terrain. I needed to get a smaller lumbar support and Backcountry was great with the exchange. I tried on various different packs and read countless reviews(literally) before I purchased the Argon pack. I have used this pack for a year on several trips and have been very pleased with the performance.

Mediocre Comfort (but they look okay)

Patagonia Footwear Olulu Shoe - Men's

Patagonia Footwear Olulu Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 3 days ago

They look pretty good and I love that they are made of hemp. I switched out the laces with a thinner pair of the same color to give them an aesthetic improvement. They are not very comfortable. The sole does not offer much protection. If I wear them without socks my foot gets rubbed raw.

THE BEST - I have two pair!!!

Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra GTX Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra GTX Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 3 days ago

Waterproof, durable protective soles, great stability, and a kevlar quickfit lacing system. They look good and feel good. Perfect for runs in rainy/wet conditions. I have even thrown on some yaktrax and trudged around on packed snow trails with no problems. Anyone who enjoys trail running or walking will benefit from purchasing this shoe. This is a must have!

Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra GTX Trail Running Shoe - Men's

I find my pair comfortable, but I know what you mean. Though it is hard, the metal plate in the sole keeps my feet protected from rocks on the trail. I have used other shoes while trail running and I have hobbled home with a bruised heel or similar discomfort on the ball of a foot. Never had a problem with XA Pro GTX - I love this shoe!

Ready Right Out Of The Box

KEEN Targhee ll Mid Hiking Shoe - Men's

KEEN Targhee ll Mid Hiking Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 3 days ago

Never had a blister!!! I am on my second season with the Targhee and have logged miles all over the Wasatch Front. The shoe is soft and supple but supplies ample ankle support. Obviously not a trail running shoe and there is no protective place in the sole. The sole is soft and though offers comfort, you can feel it bend over uneven ground and rocks. That said, this is a great hiking shoe and I have had several friends purchase this very shoe and love it.

Good lookin but not practical

Nixon Rotolog Watch - Men's

Nixon Rotolog Watch - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 September 20, 2009

It looks great. Very stylish but not the easiest thing to read. The numbers are small so I can't get the time at a glance unless my eyes are close. I should say that I have good eye sight and do not need contacts or glasses. That said it is one of the best looking watches out there!

Review Title

Backcountry.com SynthTrail Crew Sock - 3-Pack

Backcountry.com SynthTrail Crew Sock - 3-Pack

Rating for this product: 3 September 20, 2009

The SynthTrail Crew Sock fits my foot very well and the "breathability" is excellent. They do not provide much padding or extra cushion so make sure your shoe is a tight fit. If you have space in your shoe your foot will slide. I have used these with the KEEN Targhee 2 Mid Hiking Shoe. The socks are okay with this combination. I usually use Smartwool or Bridgedale socks with great results. The SynthTrail is incredibly thin and tends to slide around in the shoe. I would recommend these for a tighter trail running shoe rather than a hiking shoe.

Backcountry.com SynthTrail No-Show Sock - 4-Pack

Backcountry.com SynthTrail No-Show Sock - 4-Pack

Rating for this product: 4 September 20, 2009

The SynthTrail No-Show Sock fits my foot very well and the "breathability" is excellent. They do not provide much padding or extra cushion so make sure your shoe is a tight fit. If you have space in your shoe your foot will slide. I have used these with the Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra GTX Trail Running Shoe and they are perfect! I tried them with a pair of basketball shoes and they worked okay but slid around. Greats socks and a great price.

Simple Comfort

Merrell Shiver Moc Shoe - Men's

Merrell Shiver Moc Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 November 13, 2008

This is my second pair. The Shiver Moc will keep your feet warm and dry in the winter. Perfect for slipping on to shovel the fresh few inches of powder off the driveway and a nice retirement for your tired feet after a brutal day on the slopes. They are extremely comfortable and are ideal for stroll in the park or a gentle hike in the canyons. The Shiver takes the comfort of a slipper and puts it in a versatile shoe that can take you most anywhere you need to go.
