Wish it was a slimmer fit

SmartWool Dazzle Dot Hooded Sweater - Women's

SmartWool Dazzle Dot Hooded Sweater - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 January 8, 2012

I was really excited about this sweater but when i recieved it, the Small fit much baggier than I was looking for. I am 5'5" 130 lb woman who usually wears a size Small on top. The sweater was soft and attractive for casual wear, but without an option to size down, I returned it. Maybe it would fit someone slightly taller than myself.

Not what I was looking for

Marmot Lobo's Short - Women's

Marmot Lobo's Short - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 June 6, 2011

I am a curvy athletic lady, looking for a stretchy lighweight pair of shorts for hiking and climbing. These don't have the stretch I was looking for and as a result they were snug around the butt and thighs. Otherwise I like the fit of the waist and the mid-thigh length

Great fit, very comfortable

Arc'teryx Gamma LT Pant - Women's

Arc'teryx Gamma LT Pant - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 March 19, 2010

I run between an 8 and 10 in most clothes, but find that medium Arc'teryx pants are form fitting without being uncomfortably tight. These pants feel great agains my skin and move well. I thought about skiing in them, but only on a warm day because they are so thin. But they will be great for hiking and alpine climbing. Always a great product from Arc'teryx.

Great for overnighters and day trips

Osprey Packs Variant 52 Backpack - 2990-3356cu in

Osprey Packs Variant 52 Backpack - 2990-3356cu in

Rating for this product: 5 February 16, 2010

I bought this pack for hut trips and day touring when I get to the hut. It works fantastically for both. It carrys enough stuff to spend 3-4 nights at a hut (I am a minimalist) but packs down and carrys well for day touring. I love the way it fits close to my back when skiing! I also love having places to fit my shovel, probe and crampons. I am a medium sized woman and the small fits great.

Great for ski touring

Arc'teryx Celeris Jacket - Women's

Arc'teryx Celeris Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 February 16, 2010

I was looking for a wind jacket for spring ski touring and rock climbing. I have used this as an outer layer and under a soft shell, and I love it. It is light weight, durable and packs down to nothing. The medium fits me just below the waist and has enough room to fit a slim fleece under, but it is not too baggy with only a base layer. I like the visibility of the BUD color but don't find it to be obnoxious. Another great arc'teryx product.

Great features but waist is huge

Mountain Hardwear Synchro Pant - Women's

Mountain Hardwear Synchro Pant - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 January 19, 2010

I have researched soft shell pants extensively and was excited about the features the synchro had to offer. They fit me well through the butt and thighs, they are soft on the inside, great wind protection and excelltent venting system, but....the waist was 3 inches too large and gapped horribly with and without a belt. Eventually I decided I had to return them.

Light weight but too long

Montane Lite-Speed Jacket - Women's

Montane Lite-Speed Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 January 11, 2010

I wanted a light weight wind jacket and was intruiged by the Montane. Because I read that they run small, I ordered a medium. It fits well around the shoulders, chest and in the arms, but I wish that it was 3-4 inches shorter at the bottom. Or if I was taller than my 5'5" then it would fit better. It is a good weight for x-country skiing and ski touring on a ward day and packs down to the perfect size. Unfortunately I have decided that it is too big overall and returned it.

Patagonia Morning Glory Dress - Women's

July 7, 2009

The afterglow is more of a burnt orange/almost rust. It is quite mellow and looks great against tanned skin.

Does this dress show through in the chest area? I would like to wear it for a family wedding this summer but don't want to show to much.

Stonewear Designs Lyra Sport Tank Top - Women's

May 14, 2009

How supportive is the shelf bra in the Lyra top? I am wavering between a medium and a small because i want to make sure that the bra top is supportive but do not want an overly tight tank for climbing. What do others think?

Great Backpacking shirt

Marmot Shasta Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Women's

Marmot Shasta Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 April 20, 2009

This shirt is loose enough to move comfortably without binding, but is fitted enough to sit well under a fleece. The V-neck is great and I like that it is long enough to tuck into hiking pants and ski pants to keep my pack from rubbing. It is a practical, well designed shirt. I would highly recommend it.

Carve Designs High Point Skirt - Women's DO NOT USE

April 16, 2009

I think this skirt will be great for hiking. It falls right at the knees and is super lightweight lycra. I can't see it keeping a wrinkle.

Finally a pack that fits

Gregory Targhee Backpack - 1900-2200cu in

Gregory Targhee Backpack - 1900-2200cu in

Rating for this product: 5 June 13, 2008

This pack has put an end to a year long search for a pack that will fit a female frame, yet still hold enough stuff for a long, cold day. I am an average sized woman and found that the small size fit me well. I can stuff all of my ski gear in comfortably with plenty of pockets for organizing but not too many to lose things. It sits close against my back and moves well when I ski. The zippers are waterproof and there are two convenient points of access from the top and the back/side. The waist pocket is easy to reach and the insulated sleeve will also serve as a second pocket if you don't use a camel back. It has a variety of ski carry systems and attachment points that work well. My ski partners asked to try it on because they liked it so much. Overall, great pack.
