I REALLY wanted to like this shirt (still kinda do), but...

Backcountry.com Prime Agnello Top - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Backcountry.com Prime Agnello Top - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 January 20, 2009

Reasons to dislike this shirt:
1. If you're over 5'7" tall, this shirt will be to short. I am 5'9" and the thing barely makes it to the top of my pants (I bought an XXL).
2. It barely survives the washer. I've only had this about a month, washed it in cold water, only ever hung it up to dry, and one of the seams is already coming apart.

Reasons to like this shirt:
1. It is super comfortable...I'm wearing it right now!
2. It'll keep you warm on a cool morning run (well, except for your belly button).
3. The combination of wool, Polartec and breathable material is genius.

Bottomline:
I am conflicted. This is a decent product, if Backcountry could only get the torso length issues sorted out (I believe I am not the only one to note this problem). Additionally, I am a bit let down on the stitching which is starting to fail after only a month in my possession (I can assure you, I didn't wear it on anything tougher than a light run one morning, 6 hours of driving one day, and miscellaneous chores around the house). I really like the feel of it actually like the way it looks on me (as long as you disregard the length).

DO NOT PAY FULL PRICE FOR THIS! Buy it on Steep and Cheap or wait for the next generation.

Cheers!

The North Face Velocitee 1/4-Zip Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Women's

Bought this as an early Christmas present for the wife as we're going to be visiting some climates far more chilly than we're used to. Since buying it, she wears it around the house, to the grocery store, walking the dog...everywhere. It has become her "go to" item of clothing and I think she just looks for the slightest dip in temperature to throw it on. Can't recomment it enough.

Cheers!

Smartwool is the best!

SmartWool Margarita Sock - Women's

SmartWool Margarita Sock - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 December 29, 2008

Both my wife and I love the Smartwool line of socks, so, when I saw these I knew she would want a pair...I wasn't wrong. She wears them often, especially padding around the house when the temperature takes a dip. I'm sure I'll win more points if I get her another pair for her birthday. Can't recommend Smartwool enough!

Cheers!

Earned me a lot of points...

The North Face Aconcagua Down Jacket - Women's

The North Face Aconcagua Down Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 December 23, 2008

Bought this for the wife as an early Christmas present. She absolutely loves it. She is six months pregnant and usually wears stuff in size small so we got a large. We both commmented that even though it is a large, it doesn't look too roomy, so much so that after the baby comes she should still be able to wear it.

Pretty Good Piece of Kit

Suunto t3c Heart Rate Monitor with Comfort Belt

Suunto t3c Heart Rate Monitor with Comfort Belt

Rating for this product: 4 October 2, 2008

I was turned on to this from many reviews online. It is a good heart-rate monitor, however, it is not good for wear while lifting weights (running and biking were no problem). Due to the sensitivity of buttons on the side, everytime my wrist bent while lifting, the watch time would change or the timer would start/stop.

Overall good watch, just, not completely suitable for all physical activities.

Cheers!
