Marmot Heat Shield Fleece Jacket - Men's

January 24, 2009

No difference in warmth. The Heatshield has chest pockets and the Afterburner has an inside hidden pocket. Just one pocket the difference.

A fairdinkum great jacket

Marmot Afterburner Fleece Jacket - Men's

Marmot Afterburner Fleece Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 October 7, 2008

The Afterburner jacket is both functional and warm. From deep side and chest pockets to a well made and stylish looking jacket. Spring in Tasmania is usually windy and at times cold. Today was like that when I went wave sailing. Checking the conditions in twenty to thirty knot winds can really chill you, but I found that the Afterburner repelled the gale and I felt warm enough to go out for a sail. Coming back in and keeping warm can be a problem if you are in a standard fleece jacket where the wind knifes through and leaves you shivering. The Afterburner kept the wind away from my already cold core and I was able to derig in relative comfort. This jacket really does stop the wind and looks great.

Warm and comfortable

Marmot Meteor Fleece Jacket - Men's

Marmot Meteor Fleece Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 September 19, 2008

I have worn the Marmot Meteor on two surf trips. The first trip was cold with quite a strong NW wind. This jacket was warm and stopped the wind chill. The meteor is also a great jacket to put on when you are cold because it protects you from the external environment and warms you quickly with it's soft lining. A very warm flexible jacket that would be great as a mid layer when things get really cold.

Great functional jacket

Mountain Hardwear Windstopper Insulated Jacket - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Windstopper Insulated Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 August 15, 2008

I live in Tasmania which is a place where you can get four seasons in one day and is often cold and windy. I got this jacket for winter surf trips. Checking the surf can be cold, but once you have been in the freezing waves you need to get your core temperature up. This light weight jacket keeps out the wind and is beautifully warm. If you decide to get this jacket be careful with your sizing. I weigh 70kg and 170cms tall and the medium is a perfect size for me.

Excellent value jacket

Outdoor Research Frenzy Jacket - Men's

Outdoor Research Frenzy Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 August 15, 2008

Winter this year in Tasmania has been wet, windy and cold. I have used this comfortable warm jacket forwork. I teach 7 and 8 year children and doing playground duty can be cold, windy and miserable. This jacket looks good is comfortable to wear and importantly keeps the wind chill away. I would never buy a jacket that wasn't a windstopper this jacket does the job well. A great buy!
