Ok, so I had the same problem as the other reviewer, and then realized I also have a block with reading directions. I was going to send this back because it wouldn't stay on for more than a minute, but then realized, in REALLY TINY LETTERING on the inside of the package, that you have to press it on for at least ten seconds in order to take it off of trial mode (when people turn it on in a store, I guess, and then don't turn it off). Now it works great and I feel much safer. Got one for my keychain in white, and one for my bike bag in red, for extra safety at night. Very cool little gizmo, and a great gift for other bikers- as long as you tell them about the directions!

Nite Ize SpotLit LED Clip-On Safety Light

Just remember to read the directions- you need to press it for ten seconds to get it off trial mode. After I figured that out, I think this is one of the coolest gizmos out there- a great thing to have on your keychain for extra durable light, and for attaching permanently to your bag when you're biking at night. Seems very durable too. You do have to press it firmly to get it on and off, but that better than a light that turns on by itself in my bag, and then is drained by the time I go home. Also, I don't have to worry about someone stealing it off my bike if it's in my bag...Great price for some extra light.
