Outdoor Research Aria Down Vest - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 January 7, 2012

I bought this for my wife and she has not taken it off since she first put it on. The vest looks great and she can't imagine going back to one with no hood. I highly recommend.

Smith Backdrop Sunglasses - Polarchromic

Smith Backdrop Sunglasses - Polarchromic

Rating for this product: 5 December 16, 2011

I can't go any where without sunglasses even on cloudy days. I have the mahogany polar chromic copper and love these glasses. They filter the light nicely to where I can see as comfortably on sunny bluebird days as on cloudy ones. I wear them all the time around town and depending on the day on the mtb trails and all the time in BC touring. The storage case they come with is great for shoving them in the pack. I recommend!

Ruffwear Approach Dog Pack

Ruffwear Approach Dog Pack

Rating for this product: 5 December 16, 2011

I was worried that the dogs would chaff or try to shake the pack off but right from the get go they didn't even seem to care. I've had several overnight trips with the pups and they can easily carry enough food and extra treats to make my pack lighter! My pups are big but athletic so the large had plenty of room for them to tighten down everything properly. I highly recommend.

I have finally make the decision to take better care of my goggles and this case is worth every penny. It doubles for my wallet/keys storage on resort days and lets me stuff them in the bottom of my pack for tour days. Very happy!

The North Face NSE Traction Mule - Men's

The North Face NSE Traction Mule - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 16, 2011

I have been searching for a replacement for my previous slipper purchased on BC (Bearpaw atlantic) which I loved dearly. I have found it with the NF traction mule! These slippers are amazingly comfortable (size up though, I'm an 11 and had to send back for size 12 which are perfect) and have stood up well to abuse. I wear them everyday and walk the dogs to the store and even work around the house in them sometimes. For yurt trips they pack well and are super toasty. I recommend!

Bag gets the job done

DAKINE Boot Locker - 4200cu in

DAKINE Boot Locker - 4200cu in

Rating for this product: 5 December 16, 2011

Average ski day this puppy is filled with ski boots (27.5 fit no problem at all), helmet (smith vantage L), goggles (Zeal eclipse spx) in the accessory Dakine case, gloves (BD patrol), shell (arcteryx scorpion XL), synthetic downy (arcteryx atom sv L), light under layers, a water bottle and lunch...and the kitchen sink! This bag fits everything nicely. I always have room to spare. The material is durable and the straps make it easy to travel with. If I had to point out one thing which detracts from how nice this bag is, it would have to be the lack of a smaller pocket for keys and wallet. I bought the Dakine goggle case with it and it doubles for key/wallet storage while skiing. I would and have recommended to friends.

Nice jacket but in between sizes

Patagonia Down Sweater Full-Zip Hooded Jacket - Men's

Patagonia Down Sweater Full-Zip Hooded Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 December 3, 2011

I really wanted to like this jacket...but sadly I'm in between sizes. I'm 6'2" 190 lbs with 36" arms and a broad chest and shoulders. The large doesn't fit me in the chest and shoulders but is a good fit in the torso and the XL is swimming in both.

Bombproof

Arc'teryx Kappa SV Hooded Insulated Jacket - Men's

Arc'teryx Kappa SV Hooded Insulated Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 November 10, 2010

By far and away the best jacket I've owned! Stuffs down to a decent volume and I can pull it on and off all day in the blowing snow and it will keep me warm. The large pockets on the inside are great for keeping gloves warm and stashing skins for a quick turnaround. I additionally wear this one around town with a t-shirt on the coldest of days and have never get cold. The hood fits over a helmet and adjusts infinitely to keep my line of sight clear. The material has held up really well now for about a year of good abuse and repels water great, in fact I can't remember the jacket actually getting soaked (aside from sweat). Highly recommended, only downside is the cost?

Like these pants, but size is out of stock

Stoic Tour Softshell Pant - Men's

Stoic Tour Softshell Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 March 10, 2010

The medium was out of stock and the large was a bit too big (I'm 6'2" 190 lbs and a 34 waist, 34 inseam) and by that I mean baggy in the crotch, the length was great. I kind of have skinny legs so this may be the difference between this review and the previous one? The material seems great and all the pockets were in the right place, but I only toured two days in them. Instead of just dealing with the baggyness I opted to return them and wait for next years batch to get the medium, which I will definitely be buying.

The North Face Megamouth Hydration Pack - 1100cu in

The North Face Megamouth Hydration Pack - 1100cu in

Rating for this product: 4 August 11, 2009

Tons of room and sits nice against my back. I returned the first one I bought because of a defective frame (Thanks BC), but was eager to get a replacement. Fits all the gear I need for a ride with room to spare, plus I can easily store my shoes and helmet in the pack at home so I don't forget them for a ride (got a buddy who is a pro at this one). The hydration magnet is a beautiful design to keep the hose out of the way. I'm 6'2'' with a long torso and this thing sits better on my back than the previous HAWG I had for years. Definitely recommend to a friend.

Best option

Smith 2008 Variant Brim Helmet

Smith 2008 Variant Brim Helmet

Rating for this product: 4 February 4, 2009

I've been using it for about 2 months now and am completely satisfied with my purchase. The fit is better than my old Giro and the brim keeps the snow from creeping into the space between the goggles and the helmet...definitely a plus. I have had a few complements from my buddies on the look of the helmet too, kind of random but..hey...its sharp.
Only con is the vent closing/opening tabs are independent on either side, meaning have to open both individually which is made more difficult with gloves on because the tabs are small and near impossible to feel. I usually have to take it off or have a buddy point it out for me?
