After seeing the condition of some of the hotel pillows in Africa, I decided to pick up one of these. It has become one of my favorite travel companions.

Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 September 18, 2008

I keep coming back to Salomon for the best shoe I ever had. I've tried others, but can't say enough good things about the XA Pro 3D Ultra Trail Running Shoe. Currently in Niger, and they are awesome for the enviroment and any terrain I encounter. Get a pair and see for yourself!

Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 June 30, 2008

Best shoe I've ever had! Solid performer on the trails or on the road. Lacing system is excellent, never have to worry about your shoe coming untied. This is my fourth pair. Salomon has made small, but improved changes to each model.

Use it everyday and think it's the heat for my needs. Plenty of room for all my kit. Fits well and is comfortable, even over a long period of time. Good North Face quality!

Good but could be better.

CamelBak Havoc Hydration Pack

CamelBak Havoc Hydration Pack

Rating for this product: 4 October 26, 2007

Overall I'm very satisfied with the Havoc. I'm not using it for its intended purposes, but rather for carrying video/camera equipment while traveling through Africa. The hydration system is great, fit is great but the pocket design and locations could have been better placed.
