Bio:
I'm a climber, almost exclusively, started climbing when I was 3, first lead at 11, haven't really stopped since. I say almost because I tele a bit too, but really I've been dedicated to mostly pushing myself on sport routes for the last 2 years and 3 years of competitive bouldering before that. I know there are people that criticize sport climbers as lazy posers, and I say that if you want to make climbing into a spiritual purification process, be my guest. I do it because it's fun, and I think short approaches and light racks make it more so.
Notable areas that I've climbed at in the US include Red Rocks, City of Rocks, Smith Rock, Rifle, Independence Pass, the Flatirons, Cochise Stronghold, Owens River Gorge, Zion, Ouray, and some others that I can't think of right now. I've also climbed abroad a bit in Mallorca, Sardinia, the Verdon Gorge, and the Dolomites, among others.
I'm a diehard Coloradoan, which is to say I wear a down jacket with shorts and sandals in winter and get grouchy at overcast skies or drizzle. I'm always trying to find new areas to climb at and new routes to have fun on, and I try not to take anything too seriously.

Black Diamond Bandit with Avalung Winter Pack - 690cu in
15 hours ago
That's a valid point, but if you keep all the straps buckled you should be fine. There are dozens of pro athletes that wear the packs with the avalung built in. The beacon on the other hand, that has to be under all your outer clothes.

I don't think Backcountry stocks them that big, you can check on Live Chat. You might have to get it straight from TNF.

Marmot Highland Jacket - Women's

No insulation at all. It's a rain coat. I think if you're wearing just a bit more insulation than a t-shirt, you'll be good in those temps.

Black Diamond Custom Telemark Ski Boot - Men's
21 hours ago
Sounds like a great setup. The Custom is a crazy stiff boot, but I agree that you have a lot of weight to throw around and should probably use stiff gear. That whole setup you described complements each other fantastically, nothing will overpower any other aspect. If you've got the $1500, go for it.

Patagonia Down Sweater Jacket - Men's

I'd be concerned about three things: It's not especially warm, it's not windproof, and it's not waterproof. A hard shell solves two of those, but I still think you'll need a fleece or thermal under layer to keep you toasty.
Answer to: "Why these over the O3's?"
Black Diamond O2 Telemark Binding

The under-boot cartridges make for a much smoother power curve as you drop into a turn, let you carve harder, and grip the boot better. All around better binding, unless you're a very non-aggressive skier or do a lot of backcountry stuff.

First suggestion, look at packs and ask your question there. Backcountry makes it really easy to shop by pack size, so do a little research on your own.

The North Face Power Stretch Glove

Of course they're not meant for snowball fights. No one designs gloves with snowball fights in mind. They're designed for lightweight wear in cool temps or when exercising, or as liners. If the fur comes off when you throw snowballs, stop it.
