Mammut Infinity Climbing Rope - 9.5mm

November 8, 2009

the grigri is fine to use on ropes above 9mm as long as your belayer knows how to use one, the thinner diameter will run thu the device if your not holding the tail end of the rope as for a non locking atc or something. i was being belayed by this guy on a grigri and he dropped me from 5 bolts up to 1/2 a meter from the ground on a 10 mm rope, when i protested what the f*#k he said, the grigri didnt lock off man.... i asked, were you holding the end of the rope he said, i didnt think you had to!! and this guy was quite an experienced climber! so now i always ask new belayers if they know they need to hold the tail end no matter what the rope diameter ;)

Mammut Galaxy Climbing Rope - 10mm

Mammut Galaxy Climbing Rope - 10mm

Rating for this product: 4 November 3, 2009

i had one of these ropes for 3 years till i retired it, and i climb quite abit at least 2-3 times per week. this rope has exceptional wear resistance and doesnt fluff up, tho it did end up being about 11mm and stiff as a cable. i would way prefer a cable than a fluffy rope, this rope i highly recommend, you'll find it hard to wear out, it'l just be too stiff to use.

super sexy sport climbing harness, not 4 trad climbing

Arc'teryx R320 Rock Climbing Harness - Men's

Arc'teryx R320 Rock Climbing Harness - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 April 21, 2009

this is a great sport climbing harness, really comfy to take falls on and hang in, you hardly feel like you are wearing anything while climbing. its not so good for trad climbing when you have to carry alot of gear as it buckles under the weight and is uncomfortable, the angled gear loops tangle ur gear if u load up more than half the length, i still love this harness for sport climbing, but bought the new bd chaos for trad, which is also super light and comfy to hang in, gear loops are better for carrying weight, if u just want to buy 1 harness to cover all bases get the bd, but if you want the best sport climbing harness, this is it!!

Arc'teryx Fugitive Hooded Jacket - Men's

Arc'teryx Fugitive Hooded Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 2 August 18, 2008

hey guys, this hoody is ok, definitely not worth the full price, its very thin and not really any more wind resistant than a normal fleece. it is good under a short waist cut shell as it is nicely fitted and cut short at the waist also so it doesn't stick out. i prefer merino to layer so this jacket doest get to see any real action only gets worn around town.
