can i use these to adapt an ics board to 4x4 bolt-pattern bindings if i don't like the groove-mount bindings on the market?

best helmet out of the 5 i've had

Smith 2007 Variant Brim Snow Helmet

Smith 2007 Variant Brim Snow Helmet

Rating for this product: 5 November 12, 2008

fits better than other helmets. vents close fast and easy. most goggles work without gaps and the visor is bad-ass. hitting the visor on trees makes it come lose. use crazy glue to fix that.

WHAT C'YALL KNOW 'BOUT 20 BELOW

Norrøna Narvik Gore-Tex/Primaloft Long Gloves

Norrøna Narvik Gore-Tex/Primaloft Long Gloves

Rating for this product: 5 February 5, 2008

Gloves and cold fingers are often ubiquitous in snowboarding. I ponied up the monstrous dough for these gloves and took them to Wyoming for many days. The coldest day was -20 F. Now, I won't say my hands were WARM but they weren't COLD either. Primaloft is pretty amazing, and the shell material keeps your hands dry. What really is great about the gloves is the pre-curved fingers and the superb fit. They also have the very best grip I've ever seen from a pair of heavy-weight gloves. So grippy, infact, that i grabbed the lift when it was really cold and well, the gripper part of the glove froze to the lift! Can't really tell if that's a pro or a con?!!

Salomon Malamute Snowboard Boot - Men's

Salomon Malamute Snowboard Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 9, 2008

I bought these boots. They have about 50 days on them now. I just got a blister on my back heel for the first time because of pack-out. I replaced the insoles twice. The laces are frayed, as another reviewer mentioned. Another annoying design flaw is that the outer tongue now slides-out to one side after a few runs regardless of how tight the boot is laced.

Here is what is great about them: They are easily the best boots on the market. They have an inner strap to hold your foot down and prevent heel lift. All boots should have this! They lace so quickly and stay tight, it's absurd... and yet, nothing else will do. They excel in steep terrain and are very stiff without being restrictive.

This design should be improved in small ways to make it perfect.

Arc'teryx Fission SV Jacket - Men's

Arc'teryx Fission SV Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 November 12, 2007

After three years, this jacket has been tested in every possible winter condition and passed with flying colors. It is entirely waterproof, even against a hose. It is warm enough to spend a day and night sleeping out on the streets of New England in February (avoid that if you can).

For Jay Peak, it's the right jacket. For Utah on a very cold day, it's the right jacket. For operating a lift, it's a great jacket. If you are in awesome shape, and don't sweat while skiing/snowboarding this jacket is awesome with a teeshirt underneath it every day, mid-winter. You will be able to ride regardless of conditions.

For everyone else, it's too damn hot!

Seriously. This jacket is for when you are sitting on top of Denali, doing nothing. Kudos to the company for being able to create such a tool, it's truly amazing.

No powderskirt? what's up with that? I think you all really want to buy the Patriot SV, if only it came in black!

Light is what it is

Mountain Hardwear Scrambler Backpack - 1600cu in

Mountain Hardwear Scrambler Backpack - 1600cu in

Rating for this product: 4 September 13, 2007

With out question, the lightest backpack I've ever owned. Good and useful pockets on the top and the main compartment holds plenty for a quick climb or excursion. Compression cord collapses the pack perfectly for light loads. It's even got an external clip for an ice axe or whatever...
What this pack is not: substantial, heavy -duty or load-bearing for heavy loads. The straps are mesh—literally.
My only real complaint is that the plastic clamps that hold the shoulder straps don't hold very well, so the pack comes un-adjusted. the straps are smooth and small like little ribbons and they slip away slowly as you hike. lame. knot the straps so it doesn't slide to far down.

It is the ONLY board

Never Summer Premier T5 Snowboard

Never Summer Premier T5 Snowboard

Rating for this product: 5 August 28, 2007

The one for sale here has a 3 year warranty, that is excellent compared to other companies. I got my t5 so long ago it came with a lifetime warrenty—they don't offer that anymore, but the board is still probably invincible. I've owned around 7 boards and this is by far the fastest, most responsive and only one i trusted with my life. It's not a joke though, you can go fast enough to do yourself major harm on this board so be sure about your ability when you open it up for real on something steep. It cuts the chop, holds on ice, lands smooth and floats in pow. If it had better pop in the tail it would be the only board anyone ever rode!
