I keep claiming I'm not an outdoor person, but my ex-boyfriend pointed out that my last big vacation was a 6-day hike, so I guess I have to admit that I'm a little active. Mostly I'm just a practical gal. If you have a choice between a skirt that's both fashionable AND functional and one that's merely cute, I'll go for the functional one every time. It's not sexy, but there it is.

On most Salomons you tuck the extra up into a compartment in the tongue. These look like they have a kind of velcro flap that you could tuck it under.
