Outdoor Research Dry Ditty Sacks - Set Of 3

Outdoor Research Dry Ditty Sacks - Set Of 3

Rating for this product: 3 June 17, 2009

These bags were used last weekend for a quick Narrows trip. They are clearly marked as not adequate for electronics. I wanted to see how they fared, and threw my digital camera in a ziploc inside. I also carried some other eesentials inside the other two bags inside my top-load backpack. After five or six full body "can't touch the ground" pools, no water leaked into any of them despite my pack being soaked inside. That being said, would i trust my $300 camera without the ziploc, no way! Great for keeping non electronics dry in all but the most sever situations.

Salomon Tech Amphibian 2 Shoe - Men's

Salomon Tech Amphibian 2 Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 June 17, 2009

I have had these for a year and a half, my wife has had hers for probably four years. These are a versatile shoe. Whether it be a hike turned light trail run, hiking the narrows in Zion, or scrambling canyons, these shoes have stood up to it all for me. I love being able to drop the heel and wear them more like a sandal. I live in Las Vegas, so I value the breathability of the shoe during the summer, and when going in and out of the water. I have had some issues with pressure points on the inside of my foot, but that went away after a longer break-in period. I haven't had any issues with durability, so I have got to go five stars on these.

Foursquare Stevo Jacket - Men's

Foursquare Stevo Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 June 17, 2009

Got this jacket off of WhiskeyMilitia or Dogfunk. Solid jacket for $60. I bought the red jacket, which, by the way, is BRIGHT red. Has all the essentials for me, powder skirt, adequate pockets for phone, tunes, tool, spare gloves. Fits a little baggy, which is a good thing. Decent construction, we'll see how it holds up. No insulation, but a fuzzy lining and some pinstripes which makes you feel like a baller. No wrist gaiters, which I love.

O-matic Extr-emo Snowboard

O-matic Extr-emo Snowboard

Rating for this product: 4 June 17, 2009

Picked this board up cheap (about $160). Solid board for the money. The board has a soft flex, which is very forgiving in the park & cruising around the mountain. Torsionally is it medium flex. All around, it doesn't stand way out from the crowd in either direction. It has held up well through one mild season of riding, and construction appears to be sound. No complaints from me, but no raving reviews either.

ThirtyTwo Lashed Snowboard Boot - Men's

June 17, 2009

Yer,

For sure these boots are soft enough to get your tweak on. They are an all-mountain boot as in you can ride the entire mountain, but I would not classify them as "all-mountain" flex. They are pretty soft, so don't worry about that.

Great boot for the price

ThirtyTwo Lashed Snowboard Boot - Men's

ThirtyTwo Lashed Snowboard Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 June 17, 2009

Hard to beat these boots for the price. Out of the box they are relatively soft. A few days to break them in, and get used to wearing snowboard boots again, but no long break-in period. They are a quintessential park/mile freeride boot. Plenty of flex for rails and boxes right off the bat. If you ride everyday, these may last a season. If you ride weekends, they should last a season no problem. Because they are a softer boot, they will pack and wear out, but not earlier than any other boot of a similar softness. They treat me well all over the mountain. Liner lacing system could be better/more secure. Pressure points will depend on your particular foot, as I experience none.

Burton Lux Snowboard - Women's

June 17, 2009

Lilian,

It all depends on your riding style and experience level (my disclaimer). I think, judging by your measurements, that the 147 would sit about forehead+ high if you stood it on end in front of you. If you are a beginner, this would be a very ambitious board to begin with (think more board = more to control). The 139, on the other hand, probably is going to sit somewhere between chin and nose height. Weight considerations aside, and barring the fact that you could have gigantic feet, for someone who is more of a beginner/intermediate rider, who isn't looking to ride chest deep powder, I would think that the 139 would be the better choice. For someone who is more experienced, the case could be made for the bigger board, but i would suggest the 139 for now, as long as you aren't rocking size 12s.
