Ortovox Cougar Avalanche Shovel

Ortovox Cougar Avalanche Shovel

We all know the argument over plastic or metal blades... I'm becoming indifferent after this shovel. It's plastic blade has held up well. I use it in my snowmobile avy and ski pack. So i take it out about once a week. Luckily not to dig out my buddies, but more to dig pits and occasionally dig out customer snowmobiles. It's been used to dig through many parking lot snowbanks with plenty of ice in the way. It's been banged against cold snowmobile parts on some -30 days. It's dinged up and shows the abuse but it's still a shovel and has no cracks or chips. The non-round shaft makes putting it together and extending it nice and simple... like avy gear should be...no lining up holes. I like it.

I use these as a base in the winter and everything in the summer. Good in the Gym, on the river, mountain, and running. And the best part is the fit... they don't make you look like a tool trying to show off... relaxed fit.

Backcountry.com Midweight Merino Ski Sock - 2 Pair

Backcountry.com Midweight Merino Ski Sock - 2 Pair

Great until the first wash. I ordered two pairs... and now have no pairs. The first use after the first wash i blew through both of the toes on both pairs... one on the left and one on the right. (So i guess i really have one pair left) the didn't hold up at all...fell apart like it was their job. My feet are pissed.
