AUUUGH! Too small!!

Level Super Star Under Gore 2 In 1 Mitt

Level Super Star Under Gore 2 In 1 Mitt

Rating for this product: 4 December 2, 2008

These are awesome mitts, but they run SMALL. I wear a small men's glove in every brand I know of, except this one. I'm totally heartbroken because I bought the camo ones in size small and they don't fit. They don't have them anymore, so I can't get the next size up. That sucks!!!

Too short for me.

Venom Sage Ski Pant - Women's

Venom Sage Ski Pant - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 October 2, 2008

I thought these might be okay on me, but they were too short. I have a 32" inseam and opted instead for some North Face ones, which come in tall. I would suggest ordering a size up. I normally wear a 4 and ordered a 6, and they were still a bit tight. If you're in between sizes, definitely order up!

All in all, they seemed really warm and toasty, though not bulky at all. They might have been too warm with the wool long underwear I bought, but I only tried them on for fit and never got to wear them outdoors.

Velcro flap sucks...

Oakley Survival Vest - Women's

Oakley Survival Vest - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 October 2, 2008

Nice fitting vest that's comfy and warm. Too puffy to fit under my ski jacket so I had to buy an different one for that, but nice on it's own. The velcro flap over the zipper kind of sucks. It's scratchy and sticks to everything. I wish they'd made it with snaps or left it alone altogether. The pockets are a little odd to get into, so you're not going to walk around with your hands in your pockets but they'll carry your keys.

Great Length

prAna Tenaya Pant - Women's

prAna Tenaya Pant - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 September 2, 2008

I was psyched to find pants that have a long enough inseam at size 4. They are a 31" inseam, which is a tiny bit shorter than I'd like (32" would be better, but I'll never find that in the smaller women's sizes), but the "tall" sizes tend to be an inch too long. While I can't seem to win, these at least work without making me look like a dork with my socks showing. True to size, great fit, nice stretch!

What zip-in compatibility???

Marmot Rubicon Jacket - Women's

Marmot Rubicon Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 September 1, 2008

Unless this Marmot jacket has some kind of zip-in compatibility I've never seen before, it does not have this feature. I'm a little bummed about that, since that's the feature that sold me on this jacket. The jacket runs big. I'm between small and medium on the sizing chart and went with the medium, but I probably would have fit the small better if it weren't for my long arms. I'm not 100% sure I'm keeping this jacket, but it's a nice jacket with four of the five features I was looking for (waterproof/gore-tex, powder skirt, removable hood, pit zips). Too bad it lacks that zip-in compatibility.

Runs a little big, but otherwise great.

Patagonia Inter-Continental Hideaway Skirt - Women's

Patagonia Inter-Continental Hideaway Skirt - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 August 5, 2008

This runs a little bigger than the Duway skirt by the same company. I bought both in a size 4, and the Duway skirt fits perfectly, but this one is about a half size too big. I think the size 2 would be too small, so I'm sticking with the looser fit. The carbon color is a dark grey, not really black at all, but it's a nice color and will go with a lot of things.

Wrinkle Resistant?

Patagonia Duway Skirt - Women's

Patagonia Duway Skirt - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 August 5, 2008

I love this skirt, but I have to laugh at it's claim to wrinkle resistance. It's not resistant to wrinkles at all. A short trip, packed well in a carry on resulted in wrinkles that had to be ironed out. It wrinkles when I sit down for any period of time, too. It's a nice skirt and looks great, but it is NOT wrinkle resistant by ANY stretch of the imagination.
