Performed a scientfic experiement to answer this question. The results are a resounding NO. The top handle is molded to the stem. The stem is threaded at the bottom. Unscrewing it causes the whole lower assembly to come apart (inside the cup). Lessons lerned, good thing to do every once and a while, as grounds have been hiding between the layers. In conclusion: NO for the drinking, YES for the cleaning.

I've used this with great results on my older Gore-Tex items. It actually made water bead-off the fabric like it was new. I've also used the wash-in product. I prefer the spray-on. The product I really like is NikWax Tent & Gear Proof for all my non-clothing gear. JW- I can't answer your second question directly, but I used one 10oz bottle to do two coats on my MH EV-2 tent and had enough left over for two coats on my spray top.

Its actually waterproof under IPX7, its supposed to mean water resistant to splashes and rain. Also it can be submerged into water at a 1m depth for 30 minutes. But I wouldn't try it. A friend of mine once secured his eTrex to the outside of his drybag to track our progress down a river in Mexico. We didn't down much tracking after the first day. Get a small SealLine Mapcase. For about $20 you can protect your $200 investment.

It's one of the most basic features. More advanced ones give distances between points following a certain road instead of in straight line. I'm not confident about the traffic ones, but normal handhelds do have this function for sure.Hope this helps.Ignacio gives some good advise, if you get one of those traffic GPS, they are usually "dumbed down" and won't do what you are talking about, point to point. All of the basic hand helds work on this principle.

GPS does work in Asia (it works worldwide), but your maps are limited. This is what will work with this unit:http://www8.garmin.com/cartography/mapSource/WM.jspI believe the legend has maps specific for three parts of the world. I bought my first legend in Singapore and it had maps of asia. Returning stateside the maps were only rudimentry, Sates, citys, but no roads. The believe the three sections of the world are North & South America, Europe & Africa, and Asia.

I've done it several times for different cars. The best method is a Dermel tool with a cutting wheel. Use a face sheild, safety glasses, or googles!. Mark your bar, wrap masking tape around the bar at the mark to have a guide to follow, cut the bar. Use a utility knife to cut back to rubber so the end will accept an end cap. Viola!

Yes, But you should make sure the center of gravity of the canou is between your bar racks to avoid asymetrically loading one set. With reduced distance between bars on the cab of a truck you must have the bow and stern tied really securely.

It's not that bad to clean, the sleeve is dries fast so you don't have to remove it. I've always just been able to boil off any lingering goop.It all dissassemblesfor fairly easy field cleaning.JW-I tend to remove the sleave when I feild clean it to avoid having to pack it wet. The stove bit snaps off, and the sleave slid right off with a tug. The flux ring on the bottoom does get emssed up so I've not much a problem. I've been bringing a ti bowl with me to rehydrate food with hot water, this tends to keep the stove pretty clean.

Thermarest makes the most bitchin' sleep pads on the market. People will take you wayyyyyyy more seriously if you have this amazing stuff in your pack. It's okay to want cool looking things, but don't sacrifice performance for that either. This pad is seriously one of the best out there, and even if you don't think it looks the coolest, you'll still have the very best. You are just scared of going orange, and we understand. Look, you will be able to see your sleeping pad a lot better now as well as other people being able to see it better, look at it that way. If you get stuck in an avalanche maybe the 'k-kool orange' color will save your life.Ah, perhaps an Orange sleeping bag will up the coolness factor of the sleeping pad. Then again consider that the mojority of the time the pad is out of your bag your eyes will be closed because the pad is so comfy.
