Outdoor Research Contour Windshirt - Men's

Had a chance to test this recently. Does exactly what it was designed to do. It effectively blocks the wind. Love the side zip and the deep front zip. The Cordura/Lycra material is outstanding. Highly abrasion resistant and feels much softer than anticipated. Not a great amount of stretch but every bit helps.

I would say these run only slightly bigger than they are sized. I tested a size Medium. At 5'10 and 185 lbs I was pushing the limits for that size. I didn't have much room for anything other than a baselayer (medium weight) underneath it but still didn't feel too restricted.

Liked this piece so much that I ordered a second one in a Large for more layering versatility on cooler days. I own a lot of different jackets and wind shirts and consider this to be one of the best purchases I've made.

If you're looking for a lightweight, tough fabric, wind blocking piece then you should definitely consider the OR Contour Windshirt.

Nice pack but didn't fit.

Let me start by saying this appears to be a well made pack with plenty of room at a good price. Unfortunately for me, it just didn't quite fit right. In particular, the shoulder straps bothered me and the hip belt kind of got in the way. The other thing that I wasn't crazy about is the location of the hydration pocket. Refilling it with a full pack would be a bit of a hassle. I did like the top loading design with panel access and there seemed to be plenty of pockets and durable materials throughout. The hauling capacity for the price make it worth trying. It might fit you, give it a shot.

Could be better

Therm-a-Rest Universal Mattress Couple Kit

Therm-a-Rest Universal Mattress Couple Kit

I had a chance to use this recently and I have to say I wasn't very impressed. The straps are very thin and look like they might not last long. I did manage to get it to work but it was kind of a pain to set up.

On a positive note, it did hold my sleeping pads side by side for 4 nights and I didn't need to make any adjustments after the initial set up.

Bottom line: Probably worth the price, did what I needed it to do but I don't expect it to last a long time.
