Lassen Pack

Gregory Lassen Backpack - 4550 cu in

Gregory Lassen Backpack - 4550 cu in

Rating for this product: 4 August 12, 2003

I used the Lassen Pack for an 8-day AT hike. The only negative with the pack was that the zipper covers have a tendency to get caught in the zippers. Otherwise the pack handled the load well(40lbs). My only other recommendation is to have an inclusive hydrapack area. Instead I laid mine between the top area and main compartment it rode well with no problems. I would recommend this pack as it rides well on the hips and has a narrow profile.

REM Air Core

Big Agnes Air Core Sleeping Pad - Mummy

Big Agnes Air Core Sleeping Pad - Mummy

Rating for this product: 5 August 12, 2003

What an awesome sleeping pad! I have used the thermarest ultralight pads in the past and this puts them to shame. It was truly like sleeping on air. My hips never felt the ground whether I was sleeping on a wood floor shelter or on the ground. It is lightweight and ultracompact. It may weigh a little more than than the foam pads, but it is worth every ounce.
