Looks good but fit is very slim

Stoic Stash Shell - Men's

Stoic Stash Shell - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 January 6, 2012

I bought this jacket in medium for my boyfriend, who is a fit 5'10 170 lbs (and wears medium in almost everything). Even without a sweater or fleece underneath, this jacket was very snug. There is no way he could wear it and be comfortable or dry. I was surprised at the very slim fit since I have the women's version of this jacket in medium, and it fits fine even with a fleece underneath.

Also, I was a little surprised at how flimsy the material seemed, but the other reviews indicate it's durable.

Arc'teryx Covert Hoody - Women's

I would have said Small. It might be more dependent on her bust size -- I'm 5'7", 140 lbs, 36C and I wear a Medium.

Garmont 7tm Power Tour Releasable Telemark Binding

January 18, 2010

I had problems with this too. We lined up the heel plate to one side and one strong person was able to slide the toe back into place, but it was really tough to do. I didn't have luck stepping into it as described above.

Good gloves but small small small!

Backcountry.com Liner Glove - Women's

Backcountry.com Liner Glove - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 December 15, 2009

Good gloves but man they were small. I measured my hands according to their chart, then thought "There's no way I could have XL hands -- I always have small hands!" Whoops, big mistake... Order at least once size larger than you usually wear in other mitts or gloves!

Apart from that I really like the gloves, they're grippy and good for driving in the cold winters before your car heats up, and I will also probably wear them for cross country skiing or winter running. They could be a little longer though, my wrists were getting a bit cold.

Good jacket for the price, but a little small for layers

Backcountry.com Stoic 2.0 Shell - Women's

Backcountry.com Stoic 2.0 Shell - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 December 15, 2009

I saw this jacket on sale and it was definitely worth the money. I'm 5'7" and 140 lbs and I got a medium, which fits fine with a sweater or light fleece underneath, but not with a down vest, a thick fleece or multiple layers. I like the semi-stretchy fabric and it seems fairly water resistant so far but I wouldn't wear it for heavy rain. I like how it is designed and cut, quite flattering. I disagree with the previous reviewer about not wearing it with light layers or only for climbing; in fact I wouldn't wear it for that but that might be just me.

Love the hat, get lots of compliments on it.

I love this hat and I get lots of compliments on it. The only thing I don't like is that it's a bit small for my head. I don't know what size head I have (?!) maybe Medium/Large, but it is a little tight...

OK, a little tight and weird neck

ExOfficio Irresistible Full-Zip Sweater - Women's

ExOfficio Irresistible Full-Zip Sweater - Women's

Rating for this product: 2 October 16, 2009

I thought this sweater would be cuter. I agree with the other reviewer that the sleeves are a little tight and the zipper popping out weirdly. I also find the neck looks strange when it's unzipped, the corners kind of fold in to the center and the rest of the sweater hangs. The material is super soft and it's warm, but certainly not my favourite sweater.

Arc'teryx Beta AR Jacket - Women's

October 7, 2009

How bulky is this jacket? I returned the Alpha SV because it was too bulky and I wanted a slimmer fitting jacket, but still with enough room underneath for a fleece or down sweater.

Great shirt, runs a little small

prAna Gianna Hooded Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Women's

prAna Gianna Hooded Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 September 25, 2009

I like this shirt a lot, I wear it in town and for hiking and canoeing. The only thing I don't like is that it runs a little small, like a lot of Prana stuff for me. I'm 5'7" 36B 140 lbs and normally wear a medium in most other brands, but I have to get large shirts from Prana and they're a little too big. There should be an in-between size!

Like it but don't love it

Icebreaker BodyFit260 Altitude Zip Top - Long-Sleeve - Women's

Icebreaker BodyFit260 Altitude Zip Top - Long-Sleeve - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 September 25, 2009

I like this shirt, it's warm and soft, but it doesn't fit as well as some other merino tops I have (like Smartwool). I find the seams kind of bulky and poke out a bit, especially near your collarbones, so it looks a little odd. Also the neck is really long so I feel like I'm wearing a scarf or neck tube when I have it zipped up all the way. Thumb loops are a great idea, love those. Overall it's a good shirt but it doesn't look as flattering as other designs.

Arc'teryx Emissary Hoody - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 September 25, 2009

Love this shirt! It's stylish, great fit, cute hood and I like the hidden zipper in the front pocket. I wear it in town and hiking and skiing. My only problem is figuring out how to rotate it in in my wardrobe so people don't see I'm wearing it 6 days a week.

Not super happy with it

Gregory Z 30 Backpack - 1650-1920cu in

Gregory Z 30 Backpack - 1650-1920cu in

Rating for this product: 3 September 25, 2009

I guess three stars means it's adequate for the job, but I wouldn't buy it again. I got a medium pack and I find it's too long for my torso (I'm 5'7"). Pockets on the hipbelt are very useful but I find they stick out a bit because they're right at the front by the buckle and I would prefer they were closer to my hips. Also, I find it's hard to get things out of the bottom of the pack because the zipper is small and the pack is kind of narrow in the middle, so you have to take everything out.

But, it is comfortable (other than bumping my head when biking) and the air flow on the back can't be beaten. I wore it all summer hiking in Africa and it's still in good shape. The light grey colour is really light and gets dirty very easily.

These are great pants. They fit me well (I'm 5'7" 140 lbs) and are super comfortable. I wore them all summer in Africa and the dark green colour was great, didn't show the dirt!

Rating for this product: 4 September 25, 2009

I love how this shirt looks, but the bust is too small on me. I'm 5'7" and have a 38B bust, and I could barely get it on. It might be better for smaller frames!

Great multi-use shirt

Sugoi Acer T-Shirt - Women's

Sugoi Acer T-Shirt - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 September 25, 2009

I like this shirt a lot, it's the first one I pull out of the drawer for any summer activity. The only things I don't like are that the fabric is a little scratchy -- not like rough wool, just not super soft and smooth -- and that it gets smelly despite washing and drying instructions.

Arc'teryx Alpha LT Jacket - Women's

May 12, 2009

I bought the Alpha SV but it's quite bulky around the waist. Is this one more form-fitting? Also, is the front zipper taped? It isn't in the SV.
