Dustin Robertson's Backcountry Motorcycle Adventure Gear
Created October 30, 2009
I like to go deep into the backcountry on my dirt bike motorcycle. Some call this minimalist motorcycle touring but it is basically backpacking with your motorcycle. We did 972 mile riding for Odgen Utah to Jackson Hole and back we rode almost all trail the entire route. All our gear is super light and compact. Slide show can be found here http://www.vimeo.com/6397347

I own close to 20 waterproof, windproof, welded, highly breathable jackets and would never buy another jacket until I tried the Cutter jacket. This jacket is so perfectly designed for biking I have to get one it makes my non biking coats feel restrictive. This is an amazing jacket for any serious cyclists.

G3 Alpinist Climbing Skin
September 6, 2009
you buy skins based on the width of your skis not really the length as the skins are cut to fit the length of the ski by you. You can either measure the tip of your ski and buy skins that wide or measure the middle of the ski and buy that width. If you buy skins based on the middle width you won't have full coverage and may slip in icy conditions. I always buy skins based on my tip width.

Black Diamond GlideLite Nylon STS Skins
March 9, 2009
Yes, it goes by the narrowest part, which is the waist, so buy for that size and cut down.If you buy skins for the narrowest part of your skis you will have exposed base which sucks. The preferred method is buy skins for the width of your tip or in the Case of Volkl Mnatra 133m. 140mm skins would give you full coverage 120mm would leave about 6.5mm of base showing on each side of the ski at the wides part of the tip. If the side cut is aggressive you many not have much base exposed with 120mm.

Erik, the metal tip on the Dynastar Legend is no problem with the skin tip loop. You should buy skins that are 120mm wide this will give you full coverage once you trim the skins.

Rossignol S7 Caballero Alpine Ski
January 8, 2009
You can ski the rossignol s7 ski in a longer length than a traditional ski because there is not as much effective edge as your 168 Seth Pistols due to the rocker tip. Binding mounting point is personal preference I would start with the markings Rossignol puts on the S7.

The North Face VE 25 Tent 3-Person 4-Season
December 21, 2008
The North Face VE 25 is a tried & true expedition tent that can be used throughout the year. The only drawback using it as a summer tent is it's weight where a much lighter tent would work just as good. As far as ventilation is concerned, a three season tent has it beat hands down. Four Season tents should be called one season tents. Four Season tents are only good in the winter the rest of the year they lack ventilation making them sweat lodges.

Full Tilt Hot Dogger Ski Boot - Men's
December 3, 2008
Sounds like there to big for you, your heels sould never move around like that and the problem will get worse as your liners pack out. you could take them to a boot fitter and see what he could do with some custom soles, otherwise can you exchange them for a smaller size?If you don't have a custom footbed you really can't say if the boot fits or not. A footbed really should take up the space and lock your heel in place. My bro got these footbeds and said they worked well in his alpine boots.http://www.rei.com/product/721632If you have the money I would go to Surefoot or a boot fitter that knows how to make custom footbeds. Footbeds can move from boot to boot so if these boots still don't work the footbed will transfer to the new boot.

That'll be pushing it, but you should be fine.If you are just in town waiting for the bus and what not you should be fine between 15 and 20 degrees but if you are going to be outside for and extended period you would need base layers, hats, and gloves to make this jacket work in those conditions.

The incorrectly marked skis were marked at 73.6cm.The correct measurement is 80.1cm measured from the tail of the ski."This qualifies as a recall in my book but I guess not for Nordica.
